We have purchased and sold beautiful furniture on Craigslist.

Be sure to look it over really well and to smell it.. Turn it over and or get under it and really make sure there is nothing wrong with it.

We purchased a Bassett sectional for only $150.. Perfect condition.. Purchase a Twin bed head board foot board and perfect mattress. $100.
Beautiful all wood desk $50.

Both of these people hardly even used these pieces of furniture and were getting ready to move out of state and just needed to get rid of it so they would not have to deal with it.

Craigslist or thrift stores. You can find some real treasures - junk sometimes, yes, but you never know, and the prices are low :) Enjoy your new place.

I'd start on crags list. People sell a lot of nice things there. I'd love to furnish a little place from West Elm. But its still furniture so its an investment even if the price point is lower than a lot of other stores.

Some days I wish I could get rid of everything and start over. Start hunting at thrift stores near and far, as well as newspaper ads/Craigslist. Only buy it if you absolutely love it and would regret walking away without it. That way when you're all done, you're sure to love it.
