Is the name Paige Reeder a bit too odd? I've always loved the name Paige but didn't know I would marry a Reeder. Is it just too likely to be made fun of or do you realize why I'm enem asking the question?

What can I do next?

Yes. Yes it is.

I've known a Candice Coate (Candy Coate), Jack Daniel, B. Martini, Gina Martini, Portia Wheeler, Allison Underland... and yeesh. Several others, but those leap to mind first.

In the military, they all get the nickname "Crackbaby"... the inference being that their parents had to be on crack to name them that.

She would be teased horribly and would hate her name. Use Paige for a middle name. It goes really well with a lot of first names.

Honestly, it sounds like a joke name. No child ever deserves to have a name that sounds like a joke.

If you must use Paige, and she's going to have her father's surname, then give her a different first name and use Paige in the middle. Or as a second middle name. Or use it on a cat.

Sorry, but I too would advise against that. How about Paige for the middle name? I had a friend in middle school named Rock Sand. Seriously, she dealt with that every single hour of her (and my) already way too awkward middle years. Don't add to her woes ;)))

I once knew an electrician whose first name was Sparks - which is funny because in the construction industry, electricians are known as Sparkies. Everyone just figured he was born to do the job!

I love the name Paige, though. But with your last name, people may wonder why you decided to name her that.

Oh I understand your dilemma! I've always loved president names for kids (Kennedy for a girl, Lincoln for a boy specifically), but my last name is Hunter, so it just seems a little morbid now! I love the name Paige too, but I agree that Paige Reeder probably would just make her hate her name and get teased. Sorry!

Yeaaah, it will.

I have a Paige, luckily our last name isnt Reeder (lol) but she still gets made fun of.
Shes 7, so its pretty stupid corny jokes that luckily when she gets older will be too stupid to say out loud.

Paige Reeder might always be up for discussion though. Bummer, I obviously love the name Paige too!

Honestly, as one who spent spent much time working with kids, I believe that such a name could set your daughter up to picking on and possiibly humilated so to speak---even if she didn't chose her name.

Personally I would not so such to my child! Just my opinion!

I don't think I'd do it. I couldn't give my child a name that was so likely to bring on teasing.
That said, on the bright side, there aren't any negative connotations with the name itself, so the teasing couldn't be too mean spirited.

How about Paige as a middle name instead?

I get why you're asking it, but if you LOVE the name Paige I think it's fine. Look at it this way, when you say the name your emphasis goes on the second syllable (Paige REEder). When you're talking about someone reading a page the emphasis goes on the first syllable (PAIGE Reeder). Does that make sense? So, some people may not even notice. And honestly, how often do you say both your first and last name together? But, if I were you, I'd have to give it some thought too!

Well, when I read the question, it made me laugh. She could always take her husbands name when she grows up.

I like the name Paige but if my last name was Reeder, I would choose another name, like Ashley.

Err, well, I saw the title and thought is it a new product that she misspelled. Like Page Reader which would be some product to speak out say text messages in the car? I think the only reason was where I was reading it and the context so pretty much no one else on earth would probably make that connection and I am a bit odd as well......

I asked my nice normal husband, he laughed and said no they are not. So, yeah, maybe not a good idea.

I personally wouldn't do it, just couldn't put that on to someone, but I don't think it's wrong. Do what you feel is best for your child. Let your thoughts be sent out to the universe and see what comes back. Let it go and see what comes around to you.
Believe it or not, we all pick our own names, parents just think they pick them, but they're always influenced by the soul-consciousness of the particular soul coming into incarnation. Each name carries it's own meaning and vibrational life for each person.
None of the names for my children are names I thought I'd choose before I had kids. Somehow you always end up knowing the name that fits for that person.
the best to you
