Is He Potty Trained?

How do I know when my son is considered potty trained? He has went a week and a half with out peeing in his pullup/underwear. The only thing is, he isn't telling me when he has to go, I'm just putting him on the potty every couple of hours. If we are out somewhere, he will tell me he has to go. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like he's potty trained to me! Try not putting him on the potty for a time or two and see if he tells you. Gradually stop initiating it yourself and see what happens. If it's been a week, it sounds like you are on the road to success. My kids only took about a week and a half also, so I know it's possible.

if he has gone a week without going in his pull ups then try putting him in regular underwear throughout the day and let him sleep in them.if you're not sure if he needs to go and if he can say yes or no then just use that to tell or if he suddenly holds himself in that area that is a sign to let you know when he needs to go pee. if he can sleep through the nigh without wetting or dirtying his underwear he is pretty much fully potty trained.

Sounds like youre little guy is potty trained. As long as you continue with taking him every couple hours, eventually, he'll start to tell you first more often. There may be accidents every now and then, but that's completely normal.

If he's having trouble saying the words you might want to look at a baby sign language book. Sounds like he's almost there though. I wish my 2 1/2 yr was that way, we've just started.

He sounds potty trained to me. If he is telling you when he needs to go when you are out, that is a good sign. Be brave at home and stop bringing him to the potty every couple of hours, see if he tells you that he has to go. Just a suggestion! Isn't potty training fun?
