Indoor Trick-or-treating

Hi all. With the weather showing its not-so-nice side today, I'm thinking we may want to go with an indoor trick-or-treating option this year. So you have any recommendations? I'd like something dynamic, but not totally crazy and packed. If it had a more preschool vibe, as opposed to scary teens running around, that would be great too. Daytime and/or not on the 31st are also fine. We live in Highlands Ranch, but I'm willing to do a bit of driving if it's not too late in the evening. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow, great suggestions, guys, thanks! I'm excited that there's an option close by me (Wildlife Experience) and also excited to check into the retirement homes, that's brilliant. Thanks again...

Hi L.,
My family is new to town (Parker) but we have heard that The Wildlife Experience does some t-o-treating events. I don't have any details, but you might check it out. It's on Lincoln Ave. between Parker and Lonetree. Otherwise I know that the malls usually do something for t-o-treaters. Also, if you know any retiree's, most retirement homes allow their guests to pass out candy. We had done this once in Lincoln, NE and it's awesome! All their doors are decorated and the kids get to ring the doorbell to each apartment. The residents of the retirement homes LOVE to see the kids (and they give out the good stuff like candy bars!). Hope this helps. I agree that I probably won't take my kiddos (5,3,1.5) outside to t-o-treat, unless it's decent outside :) Although, we like to t-o-treat the neighbors and close friends or family.

Some retirement homes offer trick-or-treating to kids. Benefits both sides.

The Children's Museum does a really fun event. It is a bit crazy but a lot of fun and not too expensive. Last year it also seemed to cater to the younger crowd.....maybe only one or two monsters which was nice. I also have a friend in Littleton that says there is a church there does a fun event with trick or treating. I'll let you know about that when she gets me the info.

We do a Halloween alternative at our church called Hallapalooza, which is indoors and a blast! We will be having it on Friday, Oct. 30th, as we have church services on Saturday nights. It's a warm, friendly environment with no scary costumes with lots of games and bouncy castles. The "cost" is a bag of candy per child and we're located at Lincoln & Lonetree Pkwy - Jubilee Fellowship Church - www.jfc.org My kids LOVE it!!
