I live in the Carrollton area and I am looking for a place to take my girls Trick or Treating. I live in an apartment complex so I am looking for a neighborhood with houses. I am willing to go into Coppell or some parts of Lewisville.

What can I do next?

Central Park in Lewisville is hosting a trick or treat path. The local businesses will be lining the walking path and they will be passing out candy. I am new to the area but this sounds like a big event and a safe place for the kids.

You did not mention what part of Carrollton you live close to, but there is Country Place that is lies between the intersections of Marsh and Keller Springs and Marsh and Belt Line Road. Great place to trick or treat. Lots of homes.
Anyhow, Happy Trick or Treating!! :-)

Last year we took our daughters, who were 25 months old and 2 weeks old at the time, to Prestonwood Baptist Church's Fall Festival (in Plano). Our 25 month old had a WONDERFUL time. Of course we didn't give any candy to our new baby, and we carefully chose a few pieces of candy for our toddler that were not choking hazards. They had tons of little toddler games, such as bowling, basketball, fishing, etc. They also have some bounce houses indoors. They give away candy at each of the games. I think we had to buy tickets to play the games, but they were inexpensive. Of course, the kids can wear costumes, and there is room to push a stroller around most of the areas. You do not need to be a church member to attend. We do not attend Prestonwood, but we will be bringing our girls back to the festival again this year (now ages 3 and 1). I hope you have a great time with your girls whatever you decide to do!

The City of Grapevine usually hosts Halloween on Main Street. They close off the entire main street and the businesses hand out candy for the kids. They have rides and other things for entertainment as well. It is really nice and has that small town feel. I have not heard when they are doing it, but I am sure you could contact the city to find out when it will be. Might try ###-###-#### to see if they know.

Hi There

We have a Trunk or Treat at our Church...Vista Ridge United Methodist on 121/Denton Tap Rd...turn off the highway and it's right behind the new construction, one block. It's from 6:30-7:30 and very safe for the little ones, they trick or treat there instead of going house to house. If this sounds like fun to you, be sure to show up.

Hi. I used to live in apartments in Carrollton and just chose the richest looking neighborhood, seems like it was on a hill near a small shopping center. Just trust your gut, go driving around and see what you can find!

I hate to be a spoil sport but someone mentioned Castle Hills and someone else mentioned find the richest looking neighborhood. I live in Castle Hills ("a rich neighborhood") and it is ridiculous the number of drop off trick or treaters we get. I love my neighborhood and it is great that we have an old fashion type Halloween, but it isn't an open invitation. We worked hard to buy our home here. It is a private community not a public event. I know I probably sound like a snob, but put yourself in the same situation. I spent $200 on candy last year because I didn't want to disappoint the kids. If you don't have a neighborhood event, I would suggest a public carnival or festival or city sponsored event.

Children this age don't need to trick or treat. They don't understand what is going on anyway. If you must have some pictures for the photo album, dress them up and take pictures, invite a couple of friends over, go see a relative or go visit a senior center with them. When they are older, the organizations that host Fall Festivals are a great alternative and a lot safer.

A lot of area churches do trunk or treats in their parking lots which is a safe and fun alternative to trick or treating in a neighborhood of people that you don't know or associate with. I agree with others who have responded I feel trick or treating should be a way for the kids to meet the neighbors in their neighborhood and at such a young age you have other options to look at such as bringing your children to friends or realitives to show off their costumes. At 22 months and 6 months are you really going to let them eat a ton of candy that they have received from people you don't know at all??

What in the world are you doing taking those babies trick or treating??????? Look I mean no disrespect but you should most certainly not be giving your babies candy at this age. It could easily cause insulin resistance in the future which you really dont want for your daughters. Not to mention their teeth. Lets face it you are the one that wants to go trick or treating! It is so much fun! I think you better haul yourself over to Highland Park or Swiss Avenue. There is so much to see and you can skip the candy!

First Baptist Church of Carrollton has a great Fall Festival Halloween night 5:30 - 8:30. They give candy at each station, lots of fun and safe. The only thing you pay for is food - concessions by Chick-Fil-A, resonably priced.

I agree they're too young, but I also have to echo the earlier post about the dislike of "drop off" trick or treaters. We don't live in a "rich" neighborhood so we don't get a bunch, but I sort of resent the ones we do because I view it as my opportunity to get to know the kids in the neighborhood!! Also, from your child's perspective, you're supposed to get to know your neighbors. What's wrong with trick or treating in an apartment complex??
