I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. The next night i started having back cramps then my period. When i got home from work i saw, what i am almost positive of was, an aborted fetus (i have miscarried before at 6 weeks a few years ago) and it looked the same. I have now bled with some clotting for 2 days (no more tissue) then tonight it stopped and i am nauseated with a headache. Could i be pregnant and aborted a "twin"? I do feel wierd (spacy and tired) but my breasts are not sore like they did with my previous pregnancies.

Why don't you ask your Dr. and get clarification from a medical professional vs an internet forum?
Oh my God go to the doctor! If you don't have a doctor go to Planned Parenthood!
A few days late the fetus is microscopic so I doubt that is what you saw.
I am sorry you are going through this, J.. But if this has been going on for several days, you should have called your doctor long before coming on Mamapedia. There are many reasons why endometrial tissue and clots might come out, and it doesn't mean you are/were pregnant or that it's embryonic tissue. Hormonal fluctuations occur for many reasons, including pregnancy but other things as well. Please stop trying to diagnose yourself with a miscarried twin, and take yourself to your doctor or Planned Parenthood for a blood test and a pelvic exam.
J.,
A six week old fetus is the size of a lentil. I'm sorry - I doubt you saw that.
You need to see your doctor. That's the only person who can determine what is going on with your body. You need a blood test and possibly a sonogram.
Good luck.
This is a question for a professionally trained doctor who can examine you in person. This is not a question for a bunch of strangers on an internet site.
I think you should be in touch with your doctor. Ask them if you should come in. My guess is they will want to see you.
I'd want to know these answers for sure if it was me.
At 6 weeks a fetus is the size of a lentil - it's pretty small and it's not something I would have ever noticed with my usual monthly flow.
I ALWAYS had horrible cramps every month.
Talk this over with your doctor but it could be any number of things - and most of them are not pregnancy related.
Have your thyroid checked too - hormonal imbalances can make you feel tired and off.
The doctor can give you clarity with this.
Well, it could be a number of things. Yes, it could have been a miscarriage OR it could have been left over matter from a previous period. The only one who can definitely tell you is your doctor. Generally speaking, a miscarriage at 6 weeks is not easy to identify because the fetus is very tiny. Generally looks like a very heavy/clotty period.
Again, only your doctor can answer these questions. Also, when you go, have them check your thyroid and hormones.
Your hormone levels should have indicated you were pregnant if you were pregnant but they didn't. I doubt it was a miscarriage and I doubt you are pregnant with a "twin". Once again the urine test would have been positive. Ask your doctor though. I have a negative blood type so it was always critical for me to know when I was pregnant since I need the rhogam shot to protect future pregnancies. Best of luck!
I'm really sorry you are experiencing this. I don't have an answer for you. You should go to your doctor and talk to him or her about your symptoms and have them take a blood test to see if there is any HGH present.
I doubt very seriously you saw a miscarried fetus. At 6 weeks they are truly tiny, like the size of a cashew.
Go to your doctor.
Definitely go to the doctor and ask your question! They are the only ones who can tell you for sure what's going on. (And don't trust the folks at Planned Parenthood; they have their own agenda.) Though I'm not accusing you of self-diagnosing or saying there's anything amiss with asking other women about it; we all do! Hope everything works out. Hugs!
My daughter had a horrible miscarriage around 10-12 weeks. Every time she stood up in the ER room she made a puddle, one of these puddles of blood had what ended up being a fetus. It was really hard for her to see that and to watch them scoop it up to go to the lab. Her hormone levels dropped some too while she was there.
They recommended she go to the OB/GYN to monitor her levels but she didn't have time.
A few weeks to a month later she called me, freaking out, told me she thought the baby was still inside her because she still felt pregnant.
The nurse in the ER told her she was probably just pregnant again and it was nothing, she ordered a pregnancy test for her. While waiting for that to happen my daughter asked me to go get the nurse and ask her to do an ultrasound on her, just to see if she could see anything. So the nurse humored her and came to the room. My daughter's tummy heart rate was around 140 and her chest heart rate was about 75.
The nurse stopped humoring her and got the doc. The ultrasound showed a baby. A baby older than a couple of weeks.
My daughter had lost one of the babies and was indeed still pregnant from the time she lost a baby. She had been carrying twins and lost one of them in a dramatic and horrible way. The other was was safe in it's own area so it wasn't affected at all.
