Help for Restless Nights

I've received lots of good advice from the moms out there so thought I'd ask another question. I have been sleeping poorly for the last few months and I'm so tired of being tired!! I fall asleep easily but then wake up usually between 2 and 4 and toss and turn the rest of the night. It seems like I just can't find a comfortable position to sleep for very long after that time. I'm not under any stress besides the normal every day mom stuff. I could understand if I was waking up because I had something on my mind but it's not that way at all. Our mattress is getting old but we don't have the extra money to replace it right now. Has anyone tried any mattress toppers that were helpful? Maybe that would make a difference. Just thought I'd see if anyone had any advice for me.

What can I do next?

The very best thing for a restless night is exercise. Get a half hour fast walk in or follow an exercise video. An 18 month old is very tiring, but that is not sufficient exercise. If you are feeling the springs of your mattress or hearing them creak when you are trying to sleep, you might want to try a mattress topper unless you can afford to just get a new mattress. I've been through the restless nights for the same reasons and these do help.

We like the memory foam toppers about 2" thick.
AND we have a king size bed and recently we turned our bed SIDEWAYS and it is just like having a new mattress!
Kings are just a couple of inches different between the length and the width so we are hardly noticing any difference in the length when we lie down.
I have recommended this to others who are trying to get a few more years out of their king mattress.

Are you taking any medication? Sometimes even something as simple as advil or a sinus medication can affect your sleep. Even if you've taken it before, after a while the side affects sometimes change.

Good luck!

I remember being told a while ago that the most important piece of your bed set is actually the box springs - that if you don't have money to replace both, a new box springs is the more important part. Not sure how much that would be, but just a thought!
