I just read somewhere, just like Vicki E, that you can put the photo in the freezer and then try gently removing it. If it doesn't come off maybe consult a photographer.
Hi Moms! Hoping you can help me out. I had my daughters professional picture displayed in a frame on top of our piano. Somehow moisture got between the frame and photo... and now the picture is stuck to the glass!! I think it will ruin the picture if I just try to pull it off. Is there any way that anyone knows to get the photo to come off the glass? Any advice would be appreciated. I would be so sad if the picture was ruined.

Try using a hair dryer set on low heat. This should break the seal between the glass and the photo, then peel away VERY slowly.
When this happened to me i scanned the whole picture before i tried anything. got it off mostly unharmed with a hair dryer and still had the scanned picture as back up.
C., since you mentioned it was professionally taken - there is a possibility that your photographer still has the file and you could buy another copy. Most professionals archive their photos for a certain amount of time - it wouldn't hurt to call & ask. I just ordered a copy of my son's baby picture (as it too got ruined), and he is 2!
Hi C.
I googled about this topic and came up with sevaral websites.

Good luck and let us know if any of this works.
Oh no! So sorry to hear this. The bad news is that it is stuck there for good. It doesn't even take moisture for this to happen. If you frame under glass you should always use a mat or frame a copy of the photo never your original. Your best bet would be to try to get a scan of the photo so that you could get a reprint.
I have heard that you can put it in the freezer then after frozen try to slowly remove it.
hey C., i would use solumel from melaleuca! it will help remove the picture without hurting it. my mom used it on a picture of me and my brother that was stuck to the glass of the frame... it worked!!! i would ove to help you get your hands on some! feel free to email me back!
Take it to national camera exchange and ask for their help. Take it to Michael's frame dept and ask for their help.
call or stop in to a reputable (professional) photographer and see if they have any suggestions.
Before trying anything, I'd make a quality scan of the photo while still stuck to the glass; then you have a backup if anything goes awry. Another thing you could do is contact the photographer; they usually keep the negatives or original files.
If the photo is on regular photo paper, you could try soaking it in water with the glass. The water shouldn't damage the photo (when photos are printed, the last process is rinsing them in water), but you may want to weigh it down to dry it so it doesn't curl.
You might consider taking it to a professional framer to get advice. There's a product called photoflo that might help in the soaking water.
Good luck!
