Hey ladies,

Has anyone worked with or used Dr. Humberto Scoccia for a pregnancy, surgery, or other conception issue? If so, what did you think of him? Would you give him a recommendation? Thanks

What can I do next?

I haven't used this doctor, but I had my last baby (a VBAC) at UIC and it was a really great birth experience. The care there was very individualized - they followed my birth plan to the letter and I was able to have a great natural birth. Kudos to ALL the docs and nurses there - much better care than at Prentice, where I had my first, IMHO.

Yes, I went to him for infertility issues. I had tried to get pregnant for two years. I went to him for a month for injections and I got pregnant. I was estatic. I have a 6 year old girl now. She is perfect. I really liked Dr. Scoccia. Good luck!

I have been with Dr. Scoccia since this spring 2009. I originally was with Dr. Jain, he has left the UIC practice. I agree with the other comment said concerning physician availability. Every time I have a question I have to leave a message for the doctor's nurse. She does get back to me in a timely manner, just a pain having to go through a middle person. My husband and I have been trying to conceive our first child since 10/08...has been frustrating. We are moving to other options, actually meeting with the doctor tomorrow. From what I can tell Dr. Scoccia is very nice and I feel comfortable with him. I am a nurse so I tend to be very judgmental when it comes to choosing my doctors. Best of luck.

We were working with Dr. Jain, who is Scoccia's partner at UIC, but we recently switched to Dr. Ralph Kazer at Northwestern Memorial Faculty Foundation.

While we didn't have any issues with Dr. Jain's expertise, we didn't like how inaccesible he was (always had to go through the nurse), I didn't like Dr. Jain's nurse at all (not responsive, would never follow-up on my calls/requests despite reassuring me she would), and every office visit took about 3.5 hours (most of it spent waiting). When it took him a month to finally get back to me on a question that took 3 minutes to answer, we decided to switch. And the only reason he finally called back is because we let his nurse know we were switching to a different RE.
