Hi S., HPT are as reliable as a drs visit these days, even the cheapo dollar store ones.

If you are getting repeatedly negative results on home tests, you are not pregnant.

More time between periods is a normal perimenopausal symptom.

Call the doc, you're makin' us all nuts already!!!

:)

If you are into chasing a kid around for the next 18 years I would imagine you could be happy about it. I'm happy if you are but I would be pissed if it was me, omg... no way... my grandkids are enough to handle. :)
Since I'm 53 I look at all these young moms with kids and stress out since I think the world is so scary right now. But young people dont see the world as such a scary place. Anyway, that's why I wouldnt want little ones right now, I wouldnt want them out of my sight for a second.

Please see your doctor soon. If you are pregnant, then you have every reason to be excited. If you're not, you have every right to be sad. Make the appointment and find out.

I remember my mom (a little younger, but same "stage") thinking for a few days she was pregnant. At first they were shocked and really unsure about the whole thing... we were all "grown" and they finally had their time back. They went to the doctor together and found-out that she wasn't pregnant, but going through menopause. They were both very upset and sad... more upset that getting pregnant wasn't an "option" anymore than anything else.

On the other hand, my aunt experience the same "missed period" after being told for 15 years that they couldn't have children. She assumed that she was going through "the change" so she scheduled a consult with her doctor who had her take a test "to be sure". PREGO! They were over-joyed and shocked.

Could go either way, but if several tests have come back negative, my guess is that you are not pregnant. Call you doctor to be sure.

It can be a totally great surprise, but remember at your age, there are things that need to be checked and tested. Do not wait to find out instead be proactive in your health. Your body is not the same as it used to be.

Do you think you're pregnant? It's possible unless you've completely gone through menopause, and at your age you probably haven't. It's not likely -and it's more likely that you ARE going through menopause, but you should take a test and visit your doctor to see.

Why wouldn't you just go to the doctor for a definitive answer? It would be much easier than the continuing suspense.

I'll be 48 in a few weeks and I have a 6 year old. I think that I would have mixed feelings about it... There is a possibility that your HCG is low and it is not showing up on the over the counter test. I had that happen once. However with perimenopause you do have symptoms of pregnancy b/c your hormones are fluctuating. No I don't think you are crazy people have done it before and are totally happy. Be aware though that it might be a challenging pregnancy. I do feel that only a Dr can tell you what is going on.. Best wishes!
