I live in lemont, work in darien . . . but take my son to work with me . . . my work is flexible, and, quite frankly, i can only entertain my son so much . . . and know he truly wants to be around other children . . . he will be three in november . . . is all boy . . .rough and tumble with lots of energy (hence my need to keep him active) . . . looking for consistent, reliable new friends for my son and i . . . we do lots of zoo, morton arboretum, museum, local park, etc. visits. . . and can do play dates at my work or my home . . . just looking to find other very local moms to get together with once a week or once every two weeks . . . others that need to get out too :) either post or contact me through mamasource.

thanks so much for the wonderful ideas . . . we actually do attend library class at the lemont library and love ms. mary . . .she is so wonderful with the kids . . .i checked out the moms meet up and joined and am watching for new events, and will look into more park district classes as well . . . we will be attending the early 3s preschool class starting fall . . . thanks so much for taking the time to write . . . all your responses have been helpful . . . and i will be taking you up on the offer for photography :) how wonderful that you reach out to adoptive parents . . . it can be a rough journey and comaradery can really help . . .
Check out the Downers Grove Meetup group. We have met a lot of great people through there. They have play groups as well as outings.

This is not quite a response to your post, but thought I would contact you anyway. My husband and I are photographers, and we are associated with something called Celebrating Adoption. As part of this team, we do free photo shoots for adoptive families within the first year of placement (25 free 4x6 images included). We also work with an agency that just contacted us about doing free birth announcements for adoptive families. Since you are close to placement on baby #2, I thought I'd let you know. If you are interested, contact us after placement and we'll set up a shoot time.
We are in the midst of our first adoption (fourth child) and enjoy serving adoptive families through our photography!

The Lemont Park District has many wonderful classes and activities - and many moms take their children to the activities. Also...the library programs in Lemont are a great way to meet moms and kids. I lived in Lemont years ago and still have friends that live there - we met through these activities. Good luck.

I highly recommend going to www.meetup.com to network with other working moms and non-working moms in your area. My son and I have both met some terrific friends through the groups that we belong to.
