I am looking for feedback on people who have used Essure birth control. I am 31 years old and have 2 sons, aged 3 and 6 months. I am pretty darn sure that we are done having kids and am looking for a good birth control option. Before kids I was on the Pill and between kids we use condoms, but I am so sick of condoms. Has anyone used Essure? What did you think? Or any other options? Thanks!
I like my IUD too, but I have thouht seriously about Essure, and it is an option for when it is time to have my IUD taken out next year. I think it is a personal decision that can not be made overnight.
Take a look at going "green" with birth control. Certain natural methods are just as effective as the artificial ones, and the bonus is you don't have to worry about all of the garbage you are putting in your body. Well essure is permanent. Tubal ligation can sometimes be reversed. Essure not so much. You sound like there might be some doubt if you are done. Why not look at the copper IUD. It is safe- as long as you are monogamous and do not have a couple of underlying conditions. I had that in for eight years between my children. They can list 15 years. So that would put you near the big M before it needs to come out.

Ask how many your doc has done. Something to ask with everything that you get done.
When we have our next one which i am hoping to start making any day now I will get an iud reinserted and use it until getting pregnant is no longer an option for me due to age.
My BFF had it done and is extremely happy with it. She had the procedure done and had mild cramping that afternoon. She went back for her test to see if it was finished and it is perfectly situated. She has no regrets. She had been doing Nuva Ring and liked it better than any other options too.
