Hello
My six year old's birthday is coming up and I was looking into buying an easel for him. I was wondering which easel would be the best height wise and so forth for his age. I was leaning toward the step 2 one. would you recommend it?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for the info. I ended up buying the step2 easel. I love it! so does my son! He even wants to do his homework held up on there by the clip. I like it because it is really stable with no edges. Great for kids.

We bought a Crayola Easel for our granddaughter when she was 2.5 years old. She has used it almost DAILY since then and still LOVES it. (She is 6.5 now)

I tell people it was the very best gift we ever gave her. I will be buying one for all of my grand children.

A few years ago I purchased a nice wooden easel for my kids at JoAnns Fabrics. It is big and sturdy and has a chalkboard on one side and I think it had dry erase surface on the other. For painting we just taped paper to either side.

The nice part about JoAnns, is that just about every sunday in the paper there is an insert for 40 percent off one regular priced item. So you get a nice wooden easel that is usually about 90 dollars for about 50 dollars. You might want to check it out.

We have the Crayola one for our 4 year old & 2 year old. They love it. We received it as a X-Mas gift a while back, so I'm not sure about it's price. I have also seen one at Ikea that is very inexpensive. My girlfriend has one for her kids & it has worked out great.

My son received an easel from IKEA for his 2nd birthday. He's six now and still loves it. It's wooden- has a white board on one side and chalk board on the other. It also has a roll of paper that goes over one side. Plus it's magnetic. It's been great- and still is!

You can see my children are grown up-they still love their easel ....when it is in a location they go by they go by and doodle on it! We have had the same old 2 sided easel-chalk on one side/dry erase on the other for 25 years....chalk always works -the dry erase-need new ones for my grandson! We made many masterpieces on that thing and had good time doing it!!! I do not know what kind we have but it is in good condition after all these years and is still usable!Have fun with it!!!
