Easel for Soon-to-be 6 Year Old

I'm in search of easel recommendations for my soon to be 6 year old daughter. I'm leaning towards purchasing the Melissa & Doug Deluxe Floor Standing Wooden Easel but after reading through some of the reviews I'm now torn on what to do. The reviewers either loved it or hated it! I'd really appreciate any feelback (good or bad) about that particular easel and / or recommendations on other easels.

Thanks in advance!!

Whatever you decide, first make sure that the paper roll refills are inexpensive. My MIL bought a really nice Roseart easel for my daughter. It has a whiteboard and a roll of paper. The only problem is that it is almost impossible to find another roll of paper. The only one that fits has to be ordered on Amazon. With the cost of shipping, I think it was going to run me around $30. The entire easel with the first roll of paper was only $10 to begin with! The easels at Ikea are pretty nice, and the paper rolls are really cheap. Good luck to you!

Ikea has really great wooden ones for under 20 bucks. It has a chalkboard on one side and a dry erase board on the other. It also has a tray for supplies and a bar for a roll of paper.

My daughter loves loves loves - loves - her easel with a whiteboard on one side. There's a chalkboard on the other, but she doesn't often use that. But she plays school all the time with the one with the whiteboard. It was the one thing she asked for from Santa, and I think that she plays with it almost every day. Since it came from "Santa," (by way of Nana) I don't really know how much it cost, but I'd bet not more than $60. Pretty sure it came from toysrus.

Perhaps, go to an art store, and see what they have.

When I was a professional nanny one family bought the and easel from Lakeshore learning. Lakeshore Heavy-Duty Hardwood Easel. I loved it! It the best easel I have every used. The Newsprint Easel Paper is great. We used it for everything, from painting to stamping. It is a little pricer(about $40 more) than the Melissa and Doug, but well worth it. It doesn't have a chalk board or either side, but I hear the paint you can buy to make it a chalk board is great.
