I don't have any advice on models, but I have seen some nice brands at a big discount on craig's list second hand. It's worth a look.
I am looking to buy a new double side by side stroller. I want a lightweight stroller that can fit thru doorways and into store dressing rooms. Please give me suggestions! I would like to spend $200 or less.

I also have girl twins (4). We had a Jeep side by side stroller, and I loved it. It was a little hard in some specialty stores to get in between the aisles. Like Childrens Place...but it folds up pretty small, lightweight and we really used ours well. Wore the tires off it!!! Hope this helps!!

what ever you do DO NOT buy the double side to side stroller by Costco not sure which model but I paid around $50. Very difficult to steer, sometimes you don't have enough clearance through doors...just bad overall design (especially the handles you use to push the stroller...Get a stroller that has one long bar instead of the hook shaped handles, hook shaped handles on the costco model are very uncomfortable)
I recommend going to a babies-r-us or a resale shop check out a few models and see which one you are most comfortable with-I just ordered online without checking first-that was my big mistake. I hope you find what you are looking for.

I have a Combi. It's great. It's easy to fold up and open up. It maneuvers with one or two fingers. It fits through doorways. As far as strollers go, it's light. I'd have to check my car to see if it's the Twin Sport ($220) or Twin Savvy ($330), but here's a link to their products. http://www.combi-intl.com/
Prices would be better if you can find one at a resale shop, yard sale, Mom-2-Mom, Craigslist, etc.
Hi S. and congrats on your twin girls:) I'm the mommy to 16 mth. old boy/girl twins...FUN!
We have the Jeep brand side by side stroller that is very light weight and easy to move. I would think it would fit through most doors...it fits through our front door.
The only thing I don't like is that there are no trays. As the twins get older they want OUT. Being able to have juice or a snack on the tray keeps them super happy. So now we use our Graco Tandom most of the time for this reason only.
Good luck and have fun shopping!
I have twin boys (9 months). I've been using the MacLaren Twin Techno and love it. It is sturdy, pushes easily, and fits though standard doorways. Over the summer I used the stroller a few times to push one of the twins along with my older son who was 3 1/2 at the time and about 32 pounds. Even with the disparity in weight and length the stroller was easy to maneuver. The stroller is expensive, though, so you'd probably need to find a used one to keep the price down.
I am in the same boat in the search of a good double stroller (I have boys that are 18 months apart). A friend recommended the Combi Twin Savvy stroller, it comes in a variety of styles & colors. I'm sure there are online reviews on it too. It's pretty lightweight and fits through wheelchair accessible doorways. Good luck with the stroller & the girls!
