Our family is planning to drive to Disneyland. We are looking for any suggestions for hotels or package deals with tickets included. We are planning to get a 3 day hopper pass. I've looked online, but thought it would be nice to have some personal recommendations. Thanks and Happy New Year!

The CSAA or (AAA) has the best Disneyland packages that I have found to date! Their packages are much cheaper than any trip you could put together yourself with much better amenities and lodging than you would expect for the price. Their packages give you the option of staying in a Disney Resort or a "Good Neighbor" Hotel. You get free passes for parking for all of the days you are in the park and get extras such as the 2009 Disney collectible pin, lanyard for passes, and Anaheim Transit tickets (not free but cheap) for a shuttle ride from your hotel to the park (if you don't want to drive). Check AAA out!

We just went, and I don't have any suggestions for tickets, but the Embassy Suites that is just down the road a little, I want to say it has a Garden Grove address is the only place I'll stay out there. The rooms are all suites so they have some room to play, there is a bedroom and a "living" room so the kids can go to sleep before the adults if need be. There is a full size pull out sofa sleeper in every room. They are kid friendly AND they serve free breakfast every day starting as early as 6 on weekdays and 7 on weekends so your early risers can get breakfast right away. Tehy have a fish pond to look at, a swimming pool, etc. They also are on the free shuttle line to and from Disneyland, my son loved being able to sit like a big boy rather than in his car seat.
All pluses in my book.

good luck and have fun

We went in August and used the website www.vrbo.com to rent a house. It ended up being cheaper than a hotel because we could cook and eat at the house and not have to eat out every meal.
Best of Luck!!!

Hi Michelle,

I have stayed both at the Paradise Pier and the Camelot, which is right across the street. I would recommend staying at one of the hotels across the street from the entrance. We had the suite at the Camelot and it was just perfect for us. We are going again in April and I am going to try the Best Western Park Place Inn. It is directly across the street from the entrance. You can't get any more convenient than that. The Disney Hotels are on the property but you still have quite a walk.

My girlfriend and I just took our boys (8yrs old) in November; husbands stayed home. We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn which is 2 blocks away. They have a shuttle every 30 mins to & from the park. The shuttles were like clockwork; never late. They offer free breakfast every morning, of hot or cold cereal, fruit, toast, bagels etc. Right next door was a mini-mart and a 7-11. Each room has a small fridge in it which comes in handy. The restaurant area is small and fills up fast but you can take the food back to you room or eat outside by the pool if the weather is nice. Just take the tray that comes under the coffee pot to make carrying everything back to your room easy. Buying the tickets thru AAA was cheaper of course than buying from the park or from the hotel. We chose the Candy Cane Inn because my girlfriend knew 3 people from work that had been there within the last 6 months and they all recommded it. Here's is something we did to try and save a few bucks: When in the restuarant in the morning we took extra pieces of bread, and the small containers of peanut butter and jelly, and fruit and kept them in the room so if the boys were hungry we were able to make them a sandwhich. Bring a few
quart size zip locs with you if you plan to do this.

Hope you have a great time!
I don't have any specific suggestions. I just wanted to tell you not to rule out hotels that are farther away. When we went a couple of years ago we were able to stay in a very nice hotel (4 start conference hotel - don't remember which one - not far from the airport). We stayed in a much nicer hotel for the same price as crummy little ones that were very close to Disneyland. All the hotels have shuttles to the park - so it's the difference between walking across the street or driving or shuttling for 15 minutes. There is also plenty of parking if you want to drive and park yourself.
