You could simply just not be having a period because of sporadic hormones. My periods came about 2 months after I had my daughter, but.... she's almost 3 now and I haven't had a period for 6 months, and I'm NOT pregnant! Do you have a history of missing periods?

Oh, and the pull out method doesn't work. A little bit of cum comes out before the actual "go". So, I would use condoms for the time being.

I didn't know that you couldn't have b.c. without a period....they give you a pregnancy test at 6 week checkup and if negative they'll give it to you. If you are worried about your period or have lots of stress, it'll delay your period. My husband and I don't like condoms either, but our son who was born a month ago was conceived with the pullout method, so be careful....

That is not unusual and if you are breastfeeding you probably won't have one for a while. Why can't you use birth control before you have a period? I'm not sure what kind you are talking about--I was on the mini-pill while breastfeeding and did not have periods until around a year after delivery. That one is considered safe while breastfeeding, and you can still start a combination pill if you haven't had your period yet. Your OB/GYN should have discussed birth control with you at your follow-up appointment.

And what you are doing now is very ineffective birth control, and it is definitely possible, though not terribly likely, to get pregnant this soon.

Congratulations on your new baby. I agree with the previous postings. You should do a home pregnancy test (to ease your mind) and if negative, put the Nuvaring in. It is not necessary to have a period before starting to use it. In fact my ob told me that I could use it 3 weeks take out and put a new one in without having a period. Good luck.

there is a suppository called conceptrol. you just put it in about 15 min, before you start to have sex. before you start to play around. you can do that alone if you want. it worked for us for years. some times periods are weird right after you give birth. how ever you still can get preg. with the pull out method. during sex he leaks. good luck, R.

congrats on your new baby! Its so normal not to have a period yet! Let me say, you can get pregnant with the pull-out method. Go to your obgyn ASAP to talk about your birth control options. You should be using a backup method of birth control instead of just the pull-out method to prevent pregnancy. I know you said you don't like condoms, but in this case- I would use them until you get on the ring. Also, you don't have to wait for your period to start the ring- you can start it and then the next month you will be having a chemical period anyways- so hope this helps!! Take care.
