I thought that the Coach outlet is still expensive. I don't particularly like coach bags, but I did go in the outlet store and found it to be ok. The bags at the outlet are not the same as at the store. You will find the latest styles at the store...I also thought that the store bags were "classier" and not so "busy" as the outlet location. People think because it's an outlet mall, they will pay less. I find that to be incorrect. When items go on sale at the regular stores, you can get the items for much less than you would at the outlet. Not a big fan of outlet malls.

I can't say that I "KNOW" the scoop, however, I have a teen who loves Coach and I have learned WAY more than I thought I would at this point. We both now carry Coach.

Coach store: Latest and greatest styles, etc. No discounted prices. Excellent customer service.

Outlet: You can get something that is "genuine Coach" but not necessarily made for the Coach store. Styles will be very SIMILAR to some of the styles at the store, not EXACT. On occasion, you might happen to see something that is exact but it is rare. I would say that the quality is not badat the outlet but discount is not that dramatic (take consideration of your time and money to get there).

We have shopped both. I personally prefer the Coach Store because the discount is not that great at the outlet and I prefer not to have a bag just like everyone else's. Outlets have more available made for their store so you see your bag more often. Yes, when you buy the store product you will also see the same bag at times but it does not seem to be as often.

I live less than 5 minutes from the outlet. IF you have any issues, the Coach store is great for customer service. I had a Coach tag fall off and the store replaced it at no charge, no questions asked.

A NOTE about outlets: I shop a lot of Guess. I also used to be in retail. With outlet stores, items are manufactured specifically for the outlet stores that NEVER go to the main store. Occasionally, Guess will get a Premium jean that has been discontinued from the store. Overall....Outlet stores have products made just for them and will not have the exact matches that you will find in the retail sector.

Have fun shopping!!

I just have to respond about items being made specifically for outlet stores that are never carried in regular price stores. This is not always true. Most of the time, outlet stores are carrying the styles from a previous season. There are sometimes items that are "outlet only", but it is not always the case. Many times, there has been an overrun or a style just didn't sell as well as expected, the outlet store is a way for the brand to still sell the product and make a profit, just not as large of one. If the products are being sold in the brand's own store, they are still authentic, not knock-offs.

My friend came home with a Coach outlet bag for her 40th bday and it was fantastik. It was so beautiful, orig. $500 she paid $200. That is so worth it. I have also seen wallets purchased from there for $60 and it made me regret the $200 I own from the Coach store. I guess make it a day you want to shop there, give yourself time to look and see what treasure you may find. Happy Shopping :)
