Per Doctors instructions I need to give my almost 3 year old a couple of enemas over the weekend. Any advice on how to do this without freaking him or ourselves out?
He handled it like a champ! We just made sure to walk him through the process first. I shouldn't have been so worried. Thanks to all!

We gave our 2 year old enemas a couple of times. We felt it worked best having him lay on the bathroom floor with a bunch of towels under him. It was easier to put it in and more comfortable for him. Maybe a little messier, but then we could just throw the towels in the washer. As soon as he felt the pooping sensation we placed him on the potty.
We had to give our 5 year old a couple. What we did was waste one and show him what has going to happen. That the end was going to be inserted in (lube it good with Vaseline) and told him he would feel pushing and then we would squirt water inside of him to make all the icky stuff come out and make his tummy feel better. (we showed him one squirting the water out) My motherinlaw came over and showed us how (she is a nurse) we had our son sit on the potty to start, then he leaned over far and we did the enema. one of us was in front of him talking to him and the other did it. And then we told him clinch his cheeks for as long as it says on the box and beware it gets messy. That is why you do it over the potty. It's gross but it flushes them out. Our dr also had our son taking miralax while doing the enemas.
