Cardboard Boxes - Fort Worth,TX

I recently bought a new TV and entertainment center. I have the large cardboard boxes from each of these, and I do not want to leave them on my curb advertising the goods inside the house. I want to recycle them, and I thought I could drop them off in the recycling boxes the schools have for fundraising. Turns out that they only accept newspaper. Any idea where I can dispose of these boxes? I'm in Southwest Fort Worth.

What can I do next?

Do you know where your county landfill is? There should be a cardboard recycling center there.

Cut them down and put them in your recycling. Or call your recycler and ask for their collection location.

Cut them down and put them in your trash if you don't find a recycler.

I bet your kids would love to play inside these boxes. We always made them into play houses and painted them. Once they were torn up it was easier to break them down to throw away/recycle. If you have the extra room I say keep them for a little bit esp with the spring showers coming.

Call the school recycle bin company (in our area it is Paper Retriever by Abitibi) as they may take carboard but it's just not on the bin. At our school, we actually have two bins. They look identical but one of them says "no carboard please" and the other one says "please flatten your cardboard". Go figure?!

But I'm with the others...let your kids play in the boxes first. My kids got many hours of fun making their boxes into forts, spaceships, homes, etc.!

I'd break them down, cut them up and put them in the recycle cart.

Here in Austin, every public school has a recycle dumpster for paper and cardboard and everyone is allowed to take their cardbord there.. Check and see if your school district offers the same.

Shoot, if you lived in Richardson, I'd take them and use them for my son to play in. If you have any friends with pre-schoolers, maybe they might want them to turn into a fort or puppet theater or something :)
