Hi all-
We are struggling with our 15 month old to stay asleep at night these days. I know some of it is teething but mostly it is just comfort. An aunt of mine recommended Calms Forte as a natural relaxant for him but I have not given it to anyone under the age of 5. Has anyone here given natural remedies besides the teething tablets to their children. My husband is inclined to just keep giving him motrin but I just do not like giving it to him all the time. Also I know it is made by the same people Hylands but I have not see it around lately. Any thoughts? Thanks
We use remedies constantly with our young children - I am sure they are safer than anything you can find at the drugstore - luckily for you and I, we have a great naturopathic doctor in the area named Amber Golshani who can help you out, there is also a weekly homeopothy group that meets in Easton at Evergreen Cove - where you could put your question out to the group and get information.

I've only used Calms Forte as an adult, so I really can't help you there. I would suggest being careful with the Motrin. It can be hard on the tummy (even for adults.) Good Luck!
You can try Baby Calm. (it's Magnesium citrate) The Lifestyle Center of Annapolis can order it for you. Sage House in Severna Park carries Natural Calm. I'm not sure if they can order the Baby Calm.
in my estimation, the homeopathic remedies are safer to give small children than any over-the-counter remedies or drugs. my daughter responded well as a baby and toddler to various homeopathic remedies. calms forte or rescue remedy should both be safe. the rescue remedy even comes as a cream now...
