Hi Jenna- I stick with any that are 100% whole wheat, no corn syrup. There are many brands, just check the labels.

This may be a silly question but i had heard some types of bread are better than others to feed your babies. Does anyone know what is the healthiest for your baby to eat? I have an 11 month old.

I second a previous responder with the Ezekiel (Food for Life) breads. You can buy them in health food stores (i.e. Fruitful Yield), and many grocery stores are beginning to carry them too. Most carry them in the frozen food section, although Trader Joes keeps it with the regular breads. It's whole grain, a complete protein, no corn syrup, and the healthiest bread I have found. Our whole family eats this bread regularly. Our toddler took a liking to it right away. The adults in the family needed more time to adjust, but just this simple adjustment helped us lose weight! Highly recommended!
Bread that's good for you is also good for your baby. By 11 months if he doesn't have any wheat allergies, he probably won't, so there's no reason to avoid wheat. I'd just choose something that is whole grain and organic.
Food For LIfe brand breads are really healthy and tasty. They're in the freezer section at Whole Foods, I'm not sure if they're in normal markets, though. Here's a link to their site for more info: http://www.foodforlife.com/?id=44
"We discovered when these six grains and legumes are sprouted and combined, an amazing thing happens. A complete protein is created that closely parallels the protein found in milk and eggs. In fact, the protein quality is so high, that it is 84.3% as efficient as the highest recognized source of protein, containing all 9 essential amino acids. There are 18 amino acids present in this unique bread - from all vegetable sources - naturally balanced in nature."
Hi,
While bread is easy and prevalent -- it's not good for children as wheat causes many allergies. If you're interested in learning more about this check out Joan Ifland's Sugars and Flours at www.sugarsandflours.com. My husband and I first met Joan at a seminar she was giving at Whole Foods. It's an amazing and very important read!
natural ovens has a great line of breads, muffins and bagels...all very healthy and can be found at most grocery stores and Whole Foods
Hi Jenna,
We give out daughter Aunt Millie's Whole Wheat Organic. There isn't much sugar, and it is whole grain. I would just check the ingredients to make sure that sugar or corn syrup isn't in the first few on the list.
