No, you do not need to use birth control after you get your tubes tied. To have this done they make a small incisioin just below your belly button and go in and tie them. You are effectively sterilized for the rest of your life. There are some risks, just like birth control. This is why they make you sign a form before you have the procedure done. If you have any questions ask your doctor because this procedure will affect you for the rest of your life.

Yes, tubal pregnancies are unfortunately a risk of tubal ligation. I would use a condom to ensure that no tubal pregnancy is possible as that would risk your life and the baby WOULD die.

I think I heard once that there is an chance of tubal pregnancy if you have your tubes tied. Your doctor should have told you all about this before the procedure.

I've had my tubes tied for 9 years and haven't had any pregnancy scares.
