I have sensitive skin and always had break outs from waxing. I now get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded about every 4-5 weeks (my Polish heritage is to blame for my hair-i-ness). It's a little painful at first, but OHHH so worth it. It lasts longer than waxing, so much more precise (but make sure you go to the right person), and less expensive. I tried creams and such before, but the hair grows back way too fast. Threading is definitely the way to go. If you're near the Odenton area, go to Xtreme Hair in Crofton, next to KMart. Rula is the threader there and is great!! Good Luck!

I have very sensitive skin and the only one I can use is Sally Hansen, not the gel, but the pre-waxed strip kit. All you have to do is rub the strips in your hand to warm them a little, then pull apart and apply to your lip. Align the bottom edge of the wax strip directly above your lip line, so to be sure not to cut your lip. Also, in the beginning, you may have to do this as much as every other week, then as time goes, it will be longer and longer between waxing (I'm talking years). Good luck.

DON"T WAX!!!!! A lot of salons are now using the thread technique. It's less harsh and no allergic reactions.

AVON currently offers a cream specifically for facial hair. It's very mild but works great. They also offer the wax but I've never used it.

I bought a wax pot and wax at Sally's Beauty supply a few years ago and wax my own eyebrows.

I am an Esthetician by profession. Waxing is definitaly the best way to go. Two little swips should be all you need. Do it from the outer lip in, holding the skin taunt, and pull like your pulling off a band aid. Need any other advice let me know. There is also a cheap self adhesive no heat up wax that comes in pre cut strips, i believe you can get at walmart. If you want a professional to do it, i do work on the side by doing home visits, let me know!!

I have sensitive skin and have found waxing my upper lip causes little pimples/break outs, so I use a cream hair removal (Nair or Sally Hansen).
Good Luck!
