Am I the Only One Who Does This? - Crystal Lake,IL

Please tell me I'm not.

I just made a cookie sheet of toffee. You know, the kind with the saltines on bottom with melted chocolate chips and chopped pecans on top? After getting it out of the freezer to break into pieces, I proceeded to eat about 1/4 of the pan. Then, since we ran out of milk this morning, I washed it down with a swig of half and half.

Really? Was that few moments of wild abandon really worth the calories and disgust I feel for my out-of-control self really worth it? I think not.

I am not the only one guilty of an episode like this, am I??

What can I do next?

These cheap Queen Ann Cordial chocolate covered cherries are going to be the death of me. I can polish off a box a day (it's just soooo easy to pop one every time I go into the kitchen!). Luckily I only eat them this time of year, otherwise, yikes!

Hmmmm? Wha? I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you, I was scarfing down a half a bag of the Pretzel M&M's I bought for the family holiday candy dish. Burp.

You'll like this. Once I joined Weight Watchers at work. We met at lunchtime once a week, I think. I wasn't heavy but was interested in dropping a few lbs and eating better.

So......the leader is talking about Hershey's syrup and asked us all "what would you do with a tablespoon of Hersheys syrup"? All of these convoluted ideas like...
"I would drizzle it on two rice cakes...yummmmm"
or
"I would mix half of it into my fat free vanilla yogurt and save half for later..." Right.
My turn came. I said I would eat it right off of the measuring spoon. She almost passed out.

Next meeting...talking about times of weakness....times had we cheated....when was the last time we cheated????
Well, it was Easter time. I told her I ate half of a pound of the (good) foil covered chocolate eggs the night before.
I think she lost all hope for me at that point.

haha you and me definitely ride together on this! The good news is unless you cut off a piece with the intention of sitting to enjoy it, I believe it has no calories (like a broken candy bar). So enjoy! and let the New Year's Resolutions begin in 2 weeks!

hahaha, I am a chocoholic but pre-menstrually I seem to yo-yo between wanting sweets and salts, and have had evenings filled with cookies and then pretzels and then chocolates and then salami and then...you get the point. And I always feel guilty afterwards, but rationalize it that the hormones made me do it!

So funny.Years ago I bought the pre-made chocolate chip cookie dough, cut into the cute little squares. I sat and at 16 of those cute little squares, yes, sixteen. In fact, it may have been the whole package. Needless to say, I moaned and groaned with a belly ache for half the night.

I do that too... I wish to goodness I didn't, but I feel like I can't (don't want to) stop myself from doing it. it's weird.

I think of how gross I am eating that much, and I wouldn't do it in front of someone else... I'm not sure why I do it?

Guilty. The other night I almost posted the same kind of question. I couldn't decide between waffles, fritos, or cheese for a late night snack. Sooo, I had them all. Yep. Then I got worried I was a freak and wanted to ask on here if other mamas do the same thing, lol!

The reason I don't eat the cakes I bake and decorate... is because I've already eaten about four slices worth of cake warm from the oven (cutting off the mounds, and sculpting shapes).

Insert "innocent" whistle.

But really... warm cake is the BEST.

Oh, like you are really going to go to Hell for doing this. Stop feeling guilty about it, you could get hit by a bus tomorrow and then what? I mean, I really hope you don't, but if you did, at least you had some fun and ate something you really enjoyed.

This time of year, I love those big tins of the Danish butter cookies. I bought one just to have for myself and ate the entire thing over a week. If I had died after for whatever reason, I would have died happy.

I am seriously laughing over b/c just the other day I was thinking "I remember eating some yummy goodness long ago, I believe it had saltines in the bottom..... what was that anyway?!" Gotta get that recipe. And, you made me feel better. I have discovered the BEST brownies EVER (Ghiradelli (sp?) triple chocolate, or something like that) Last weekend I baked a batch and ate HALF the pan in one day. Yesterday I bought a bag of Hershey nuggets. I put them in the freezer b/c they just taste fabulous that way. They're almost gone...

Oh you are not the only one. We made Christmas cookies last week. I weigh myself once a week. On Monday I was 4lbs heavier than the previous week. I was so disgusted with myself. At the time it seemed worth it, but I felt so gross after......hey at least I got it out of my system!

Seriously, we all have those moments. There are chocolates in a dish in my house. You would think I could just take one every once in a while. Yeah... This is our second dish in a two days.... SOOOOO guilty. Still, it's the holidays, lighten up on yourself and have some fun like kids do. We all deserve it occasionally! :)

Have a great holiday!

You are so not alone! I had a cookie exchange with my co-workers a couple of days ago and not only had I test each batch of the cookies I made but gobbled up most of the other cookies I received already (that I had planned on saving for Christmas). So I went to Jewel today and bought more cookie making supplies so I have dessert for our family Christmas. New Years resolution of no sugar starts after Christmas - since I will need to test each batch of the cookies I make today also. I would not be a responsible baker if I didn't makes do a test control. Right?

I would never put that poison in my body, please don't ignore this warning sign...

Oh wait, I am KIDDING!
I can't think straight because all I want to do is make that toffee & eat it!
Luckily I have skim milk so I am golden on washing it down with something healthy.

You made everyone laugh today, because we have all been there. THANK YOU, I needed this chuckle while frantically getting ready for Christmas:)

Wrap, clean, eat cookie, repeat...all week
