My 3 year old twins won't sleep at night. They are up all night and fall asleep at around 11 in the morning we have tried putting them to bed at 8:30 pm. But it doesn't work. We have read to them etc. What can we do? They were sleeping all night. My daughter has been in and out of the hospital since infancy due to a birth defect.

What can I do next?

Don't let them sleep during the day at all. Watch super nanny if they are coming out of their room. Separate them if they are playing.

Hi C.
Tis the world of multiples and even just siblings.
When my twins did that- i shifted the sleep times in half hour increments- yep it took time but it worked with one night owl and one early riser early to bed.
Still - the one crashes early- now 9 yo
The other, night owl late sleeper and this one still awakens at least once a night yelling- mom - and I go in to settle her.
Hang in there-- it will resolve-- and also enjoy it as sooner than later they will be not wanting you around for cuddles at all.
continued success with health issues also!

Do they nap? How long as this been going on? I'd try taking away their nap and then putting them to bed as early as 7:30 p.m. If separate rooms is possible, try that. I have multiples and my two boys have always had to share a room and we did go through a time at age 3-1/2 to 4 when they were still napping for a couple hours in the afternoon and then ended up goofing around at bedtime for an hour or two (we'd put them to bed around 8:30). I decided to try taking their naps away and put them to bed earlier. Worked like a charm. They're now 5 and still go to bed at 7:30 and are asleep within minutes with no messing around. Good luck - it will get better.

They need separated. I know this from personal experience.
