1St Year Molar Sleep Issues

My son is cutting his first molar. Some of it has broken through the skin, but it still has a ways to go. I always said I would never let my son CIO when he has something wrong, but sharing a bed every night is getting very tiresome. He goes to sleep in his bed, but then wakes at all hours so we just bring him in. We give him Ibuprofen or Tylenol and maybe some teething pills, but he wont settle down in his room. However, once we bring him into our bed he's fine. Is he really in pain in his crib? I hate the thought of letting him cry in there when it is painful.

What can I do next?

Ooh...I woke up this morning thinking the exact same thing, but also know he's cutting all four molars & a couple incisors (mine are late teethers). I've tried teething tablets, motrin, tylenol to no avail. And sleeping with us isn't working that well either. Well it is for him not me :( Thanks for posting I'm eager to see what advice others offer....

I'm almost ready to buy that amber necklace....

I'd cuddle him up too. When I'm in pain, being held by those that love me is helpful. We bought my daughter a Baltic Amber Teething Necklace. It's a natural pain reliever and we never had to give her meds for teething after she started wearing it. In fact, at one point we noticed that she has FOUR new teeth that we didn't know were coming in. And it just happened again with her 2-year molars. I highly recommend the necklace. I bought mine from a website called Inspired By Finn. Everyone I know that has them, loves them. :) Good luck. Sleepless nights are not a good for anyone. :(

Aww, I'm sure crying makes his little mouth hurt worse. I'd snuggle him for now and do what you are doing. This to shall pass.

We're in a similar situation right now. Our 1 yr old appears to be teething too and is cranky, fussy and not sleeping well either. I just started giving him Motrin this morning.

Personally, we don't co-sleep unless the kids are SICK. I think teething is just a rough patch where they need extra hugs, cuddles and stick to sleeping in their own room.
