I have a 10 yr old daughter. Her body has been changing like crazy. I don't remember myself going through this. She hasn't started her period yet. My question when she does start her period where at school do I keep her stuff? They have little cubbies in there room. They don't have lockers. Where does she put her items?

What can I do next?

My cuz has a 10 year old and her daughter hasn't started her period yet but has an "incase of emergency, pencil bag" In it is pads, small pack of wipes and an extra pair of undies". She's been carrying it everyday in her backpack for 6 months, after the 4th grade girls got "the talk".

I would recommend a pencil bag-small enough to take with her but wont cause any excessive curiosity from other students.

I'd give her a little purse or bag to keep pads/tampons in and make sure the teachers knows that she's started and might need to use the restroom all of a sudden.

My daughter carries pantiliners, pads, tampons, wipes, & a change of underware in one of those little make up bags that you get with a free gift from Clinique. It's in her backpack and she just leaves it there unless she goes camping, where she packs it with her camping gear. SHe hasn't started her period yet and she's 14, but has been carrying a bag since I think she was in 5th grade!

All of the below answers are great. You might also check with the school nurse to see if the school has a supply of anything in case she starts unexpectedly or forgets/runs out of what she needs.

Let her keep a little purse in her backpack for her to take with her to the bathroom. SHe can keep a pantyliner/pad init as well as other stuff as not to make it obvious, like a small pack of tissues, chapstick/lip gloss, small body spray, compact mirror. My daughter uses a dark colored, small make-up purse. She has pantyliners (not heavy enough yet to use pads), lip gloss, small packets of tissues and oil blot sheets in hers. She keeps it in her side compartment of her back pack with a small bottle of water. She doesn't have lockers and they change classes every period and the backpack goes with them to every class.

My daughters and I had this discussion when they were about your daughters age. They told me that they preferred to keep that stuff in their backpack. To avoid any embarassment, in case the backpack was dropped and spilled while it was open, we put the item/s in a small sized manilla envelope. Hope this helps!
