I have been happily using pocket diapers but mistakingly used diaper rash ointment with them. Now the diapers repel any wetness from my baby and I am trying to "strip" them of any residue. I have washed them in hot water many times but they still don't absorb anything. I have already invested in a lot of money and want to save them. Does anyone know what I can do? Also, can I use any barrier cream with the prefolds?

I have an 8 month old baby girl who has had frequent, non-diarrhea bowel movements for a little over a week. She is breast fed and started solids approx 2 months ago. It seems completely unrelated to the start of a new food, I have not changed my diet either. She is having 5-6 a day. I talked to pedi about it and she isn't concerned unless watery.
