Help! Almost 3 Year Old Won't Eat!

I have a boy who will be 3 end of July who hasn't eaten in over 30 hours. I have read lots of places that in order to get kids that age to eat things, that you should continue to give them the same food until they eat it, and they won't starve themselves. (i.e. Put the food they are refusing away and continue giving it to them until they eat it...and they won't starve themselves)...My son is proving to be quite stubborn however.
