Baby Shower for 3Rd Baby ?

I am pregnant with my 3rd baby and I am wondering if it is ok to have a baby shower? My first 2 were girls, I had a shower with both of them - thrown by different friends. This time I have not had anyone offer to throw one, and I was kinda bummed but then I started thinking about "what if I threw my own?" Baby Shower & Registry..

Hello~ I am trying to register for my baby shower & figure out all of the necessary items we will be needing for our daughter. Money has been very tight lately, due to a family crisis, I haven't worked in over a year. I would like to know what are some of the items that you couldn't live without & the things you never used. I am trying to create a registry so my husband & I & our loved ones know what we need & where things stand. Any advice on baby products would be greatly appreciated. This is our first baby. Baby Shower for #2

I have a friend who lives out of town, but would like to come down and throw a baby shower for our second child. My DD is 19 months and will be almost 2 when the baby arrives. We don't need alot of "stuff", mostly clothes since #2 is a boy. She suggested we do a "gift card" shower, where guests would give us gift cards to HEB, Target, Carters, Molly maids, etc. Would this be appropriate?
