Does anyone work from home? I am going back to work on February 1st. When I first found out I was pregnant, there wasn't a doubt in my mind, I was going back to work. But now that JT is here and I have to go back soon, I'm starting to rethink this! Financially wise we could pull it off. My husband would have to work overtime, but in the long run we might end up better off because we wouldn't have to pay for daycare.

I would prefer to help out financially if I do become a SAHM, so I'm wondering if any of you know of work at home opportunities. Thanks!!!

I'm so glad I didn't go back to work after having my children. I would have missed some many memorable moments, plus I liked knowing that my kids were in their own home every day. When my oldest turned 9, I started a jewelry-making business and love it. I am as busy as I want to be. I know others who have made it their full-time job and they make good money. Very rewarding if you enjoy being creative, being your own boss and making your own hours. Lots of online sites to sell your handcrafts, i.e., etsy, dewanda, handmade.com, wildfire, ebay...plus craft shows, local shops, home parties and more! Just something to consider. Good luck!

Greetings Suzbeth, it is great that you want to stay home with your new baby JT. I am a melaleuca marketing executive 11 and I am able to be at home with my family & make an income too. The company is listed with the BBB.There is no selling, you shop and save while sharing your experience with the products, the products are delivered to your door! There is, however a small investment. But don't let that stop you because the products are risk free and guaranteed and it does not require you to invest any additional money outside of your budget. It is a great opportunity; to learn the details of the company and the great opportunities. Go to www.melaleuca.com/DeliveringWellness. AFTERWARDS YOU CAN CALL ME ###-###-#### OR EMAIL ME: ____@____.com. I will be honored to be your mentor.

I think you are wise to do this. The time with your child is more precious than gold. And it goes so quickly!

For the past 7 years, I have supplemented my family income by really HELPING people. That is why I continue in it. I am a consultant for Creative Memories. Have you heard of us? What we do is teach people "how" to preserve their photos: in scrapbook albums or in digital albums. It is truly rewarding. Everyone takes photos. So many people just leave them in their camera or on the computer...for them never to be enjoyed!

Here is my website. You can go take a look and if you like it, you can contact me that way. Best of luck to you!

Hi,
I do a few things to bring in extra money as I am now a stay at home mom. I was doing full time in-home daycare. Now that I have 3 little ones of my own I only do part-time. I get a little extra money, but still get to be home with my kids. I love kids and was a teacher before deciding to stay home so child care is a great fit for me, but it's not for everyone.

I signed up for focus groups to do paid market research studies. I've come to places like these boards to ask for suggestions and then signed up to be on company databases in my area.I get called every few weeks to participate, but I don't always qualify. The money usually ranges between $50-$100 per study.

I also sell Usborne Children's Books. Right now I'm very busy so I only do this a little, but I love this company for a few reasons.
1.) I have kids and use all the books with my own children.
2.) Many of our friends/family have kids so there are a lot of potential people I can ask to host home or on-line shows.
3.) There is 1 start up cost for the books, supplies, and your own personal website. You keep everything and there are no "monthly/yearly" requiremnets. I can do as little or as much as I want and around my schedule.

If you'd like any information on this I'd be happy to give it to you. www.newbooks4kids.com is my website. You can see what your site would look like (once you enter the book store)and find out a lot of information about how everything works.

Congrats on your little one and good luck with your decision,
Tracy

Hi I work in Middletown at a nursing home near Wesleyan as a CNA and go to school in East Hartford. I read that you work in Hartford for as a daycare coordinator so what about taking the baby to work with you, this way the staff could watch him and you would be close by as well to take him while he is sleeping or entertaining himself.

I stayed home with my daughter and while it was hard financially I am glad I did. Actually I stayed home until my 5th child was in nursery school and then went back to school. The cost of daycare was too expensive for us, me going back to work would have payed for daycare and about $25 per week extra so we felt it wasn't worth it. Hope this helps you with your decision. I'm not far from you, if I can help let me know.
Hugs,
T.

I love working from home and my son has "worked" in my business since he could walk. He loves greeting my customers at the door, taking them to my office and talking with all of them. I believe he has learned about goal setting and lots of other things from my business. I am so glad I made the decision to stay home. I'm sure you're probably wondering what I do?? I am a Mary Kay Consultant. It's awesome to belong to a company that is all about faith, family and then career. It inexpensive to get started and you get to set your own schedule. I know my reply is late but good luck with whatever you do.

Hey there! I am a mom of a 4 year old and twins who are going to be 3 this February! I know I was like you, I could not imagine having to put my kids in childcare, and with my first child, I didn't have to. Two years ago, I searched for a way to bring in the income we needed without having to find a 9-5 job...it didn't even make sense to fork out the money to have someone else raise my kids and then work to pay for it!

I have been so blessed to have found an amazing business I can work right from home. I have the security that my family needs to last a life time...yes, I consider this a lifelong career!

I never have inventory, parties, sales or large investments! You'll need to set aside about 30 minutes for me to share it all with you and answer all your questions at the same time.

Request info. at my site www.WorkingMommyAtHome.com to set up a time to talk more in detail. :)

A.~
