We recently moved to the state and have heard that the waterparks in Wisconsin are a lot of fun. Our kids are very young (34 mos and 10 mos). Is this something they would enjoy? Which parks are the best for the little ones? Is it worth trying to go up there last minute for the Memorial Day weekend? Thank you.
Way too young for waterparks. My girls were 3 and 2 and still too young. Couldn't do any slides or anything and it was overwhelming to chase them in a crowd.We did a regular old cheap hotel with a pool for vacation last year and they were thrilled. If you want something local with a nice brunch and shopping and 2 pools, try Pheasant Run in St. Charles.
Thye have GREAT waterparks at the Wisonson Dells. However, in my opinion I think your children are a little to young for what they are known for, They have HUGE sildes and pools and al kinds of different things geared toward the older ones. You could probably find a hotel there that has water activities that would be good for your age children. Every hotel has pools and most have fun smaller water areas. They have a lot to do there but again I think your children are a little young to enjoy it.

We go about twice a year to the Wilderness on the lake & love it. Our kids are little too, but still have a great time. The Wilderness on the lake are all 2 & 3 bedroom condos with full kitchens, 4 seasons room, hot tub, ect. They also have a private indoor/outdoor pool which is pretty kid friendly. It's a little expensive, but if you can find another family to go with it's definitely big enough to share. Check out the website.. www.wildernessonthelake.com
i moved from wi last fall, so we have visited the water parks a lot. we didn't start bring the kids until they were 5 years old and my husband and i spend a lot of time apart each with one kid. We leave our youngest with a sitter. they are very crowded busy and make me nervous witht he kids going under. the life guards are kids themselves so i don't have a lot of faith in them. this year the boys want to try great america so we will see how that water park is. but again my 2.5 year old will stay home. a lot of hotels have mini water parks i know the holiday inn by the milwaukee airport does (we stayed at it last november) it was nice for little ones and not crowded. The water was not too deep so didn't have to worry to much about that.
Having lived in Wisconsin for 10yrs and finally moving back to Illinois and visitng the waterparks virtually every year, i can say, they are overpriced, way TOO crowded, the waves pools you are bound to find something floating on the bottom that is gross and definately not for a 3yr old and 10m/o baby..There are WAY to many rambuctious kids without supervision and I would not subject my child to that. My daughter went with us for the first time last yr(she is 8) and hated it. She loved the concept, loved the water, hated the obnoxious kids that pushed and shoved and this was from a then 7yr old.. I would find a hotel with a nice pool and try that til the kiddo's are older...Just my 2cents....K.

We actually just booked a weekend getaway to Wisconsin Dells (THE waterpark haven!!) but it is for the first weekend in June. The prices did go up for Memorial Day weekend, and we figured they would be packed with people. I have a 2 year old and an almost 5 year old, and the hotel we are staying at (Great Wolf Lodge)has ammenities for the younger ones and older ones..it looks pretty fun. I would definately check the Dells out, but maybe not for such a big getaway weekend. Have fun!!
My five year old and two year old love the waterparks. We've been going since our five year old was little. We usually go to the Wilderness and love it! We tried the Great Wolf last time and didn't like it nearly as much.
Because you have received so many opinions that are against it- I think if you want to go ride the slides and big tube rides then no, your kids are too small(which you already know). What they have there for babies are lazy rivers which allow you to float with the child on your lap- my son loved it. He also loved the kiddie pools that he could play in. We had a great time with my son who was 14 mos.
Blue Harbor resort in Sheboygan is my favorite.
We personally like the Wilderness Resort, we've been there a couple times now, once with 1 and 4 yr olds and again with 1,2,4,5 and 11 yr olds and they ALWAYS have a great time (as well as us adults hehehe)
