I was wondering if anyone knows of a wii video game that would be good for a 4 year old girl. She likes the wii bowling but it is a little hard for her to get the right button down. Today she tried mario cart at her uncles houese and seemed to like it. Does anyone have any other suggestions.

So What Happened?

You know I just want to say that people need to learn to be nice. Whatever happened to the old saying “if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all"? I just want to clear this up. She does not play video games all day long. We have wii because it is a game that gets you up and active. When she does play it is a treat. She spends plenty of time outside. She loves reading and painting. There is no need to be rude to people you do not know.

We have had Wii for along time. My kids are much older, but my daughter babysits for a 4 year old. She says most of the games are hard for them to understand, but she plays the following with them. She plays Carnival games, BoomBlox, and she said Tennis is fun for them. She also suggested some interactive games with animals. Where you take care of them...like Pet Shopz. Good Luck and have fun

If your daughter is into Disney, there is Sing IT! which is filled with the Disney singers, like Hannah Montana, AJ and?, Cheetah Girls, Camp Rock, High School Musical, etc. I think it has the last three. I just can't remember. They all start blending together.

We also bought Big Brain Academy, which is really mental exercise. It is like a mini-electronic IQ test, as it tests the 5 main domaines, like memory, visualization, computation, anaylsis, and ? one more. Obviously, I need to play it more. It was also given a good review by Common Sense Media, which looks at media (books, movies, electronic games, software, etc.) from a parent perspective and rates different categories, like violance, language, etc. Very good site (commonsensemedia.com)

Those are the ones my daughter likes.

I don't have game to recommend, I do have a response to people that think video games, television and computers are evil.

If a child is going to be competitive in the job market of the future, they will have to understand technology and know how to use it. The learning curve gets steeper the longer they go without knowing it.

I am not saying let techonology run your homes- it is just like everything else in parenting, part of a well thought out parenting plan.

Further, if you have a child with a learning disability, especially dyslexia, the hand eye coordination/tracking and a lot of other skills that the children get from playing video games is very valuable.

Kimberly- follow your gut, you are doing great.

Hi Kimberly,

Well, I've been blessed with boys ;O) BUT... one of my girlfriends has 2 young girls that absolutely LOVE this Dancing (maybe singing, too) Wii Game. I don't know the name of it, but she said it's fun but very "girly", and sooooooo entertaining.

There is so much out there now for the Wii. Just in case you didn't know.........

1) Game Crazy replaces all discs if they break or scratch, you only pay $3 extra when you purchase your games, INLCUDING used games :O)
2) Target lately has had LOTS of sales with buy 2, get 1 free.
3) My nephew rent's games at Blockbuster to decide if they want to purchase them or not.

It's a very fun game, even for the whole family. We love it!

Anyway, have fun finding her game!

K.,
My 4 yr old son likes to play the Disney princess game (my 3 yr old daughter likes to play it with help), DeBlob, Endless Ocean and Wario Smooth Moves (this one is so silly and often times the person in last place wins during the rope cutting at the end so skill level is somewhat irrelevant).
Have fun!

My 5 year old twins love to play this at my sister's with their teenage cousins. They like the bowling, golf, tennis, baseball, etc. I've thought about getting it, but have decided it is nice that they have something to look forward to when going to visit their cousins. I have a friend with a 5 year old who has it and says if she could do it again, she would not get it. All her son wants to do is play with it and it is driving her nuts. After she told me that, I decided to wait a few years before having one in the house.

Have you tried any of the Leap Frog products? My kids love them and think they are playing video games. They have learned a ton from them. Check them out.
