why is it that the nights my daughter goes to sleep so easily, and is out cold all night, those are the nights (like tonight) that i am wide awake and cant seem to sleep... but on the nights that i am absolutley exhausted and feel like i could sleep for a week my daughter is cranky, takes forever to fall asleep and wakes up every couple hours... i swear its like she knows!
-o0h and my fiance also decides on the worst nights that he must sleep dead center in the middle of the bed on both of our pillows.. yaayy
Wait til you go through menopause. There's not much sleep then either...

I think it's just Murphy's Law but boy it sure does make me mad.
Child fell asleep early and I'm still WIDE AWAKE.
Well I'm about to fix that.....about to unplug electronics and go to bed for what I hope is a deep, restful sleep. Hope you get that, too.
Just remember....on those nights she is cranky and can't sleep that she feels much like you do when you can't fall asleep. It's not her fault any more than it's your own fault when you can't sleep. As hard as it is sometimes it's just better to let them up and doing something so they'll get tired.
I have actually laid on the couch watching TV with my grandson sort of trapped on my side with my arms around him snuggling. Then I have fallen asleep. He's safe and it he tries to move off the couch it wakes me up. He gets to do something that he likes and I will often wake up and he'll be out cold. Then we can both go to bed and get some deep rest.
Other times he may stay wide awake until 3 or 4 am. Those nights would stink if I tried to fight him all those hours. By letting him be occupied and me dozing off we are both doing something that makes this off night easier.
He doesn't do this very often and it doesn't become a habit. He's tired when he's tired.
SOOOOO Typical. Here I fell asleep for a short while, realized that it was very late and my fiance was not home yet, called, no answer so up I am. He came home 20 min later, but wide awake am I.
