Okay ladies, so this is it...i want to plan my wedding even though we don't have a plan yet. I am a vampire fanatic and always have been. Also my favorite band is Evanescence and my father whom passed away was a biker guy and loved harleys. And i do as well. I want a wedding dark blood red and white and whatever else that i can add to make the theme something different involving some of my likes and interests. My fiancee doesnt really care. he likes mud trucks and me too and harleys. he is easy going as long as i am happy and can do it as cheap as possible. That is really all i know about it at this point. I do know i want it in the summertime too. i hate the cold. I want normal things as well like a white pretty dress etc. I have my 3 and a half year old son to be the ring boy and my daughter can be my flower girl.I do not want to have ppl travel too too far but want a great cheap wedding. HELP. I have thought about doing it in a castle some where but i really have no clue what to do. Does anyone have any ideas for planning my wedding with the few ideas i have given. I really just want some suggestions or ideas. come on ladies opinions please. LOL thanks

What can I do next?

I worked in the wedding industry for awhile. One of the venues we worked with told us about a "black and white" wedding the couple had. They were able to reserve the venue very late in the evening, I believe they had cocktails and appetizers and such around 10 pm, with the vows exchanged just before midnight. They specified in the invitation that it was a black and white wedding, and all guests were to attend in black and white attire. You could tell guests that it is a red/black/white/leather wedding, or something like that, that way your guests are a part of the decor, not costing you anything.

I saw something on tv the other day. I think they had their wedding at a drive-in-theater ....... maybe you could have Vampire clips on the big-screen in the background? Their wedding was at night, of course, so you could do a lot of candles which might make it more mysterious. Wherever you choose to have your reception, you could hang bats from the ceiling on fishing wire, or do some fun centerpieces.

If you really want cheap, then I'd do a small wedding (find a park with a nice gazeebo) and then spend the money on pictures/video and have a big 'party-reception.' That's what my hubby and I did. He's from Cali, I'm from Texas. So we got married in Cali with 13 people at our wedding. Then had two receptions (paid for by our parents) - one in California, one in Texas. That way noone except my parents had to travel across the US to attend our wedding.

Good luck. Have fun. Google "vampire party" and "Motorcycle wedding" and phrases like that. I googled "america's wackiest weddings" and found a dress with little LED lights in it. That would be pretty cool if you did a night-time wedding.

Well, as a vampire fanatic, I can say anyone who likes the Twilight vampires doesnt like real vampires, just the neutered puppies who sparkle. That being said, I agree that a night wedding would be awesome. I know there are places where you can do the wedding and reception in the same place, my friend did one at a Masonic Lodge in wichita that was very nice. You could load up with candles, maybe add a red sash to your dress to vamp it up a little, have red and black rose petals around. Throwing in purple would also be pretty good, or burgandy instead of red. One of my friends did a pretty cheap wedding by making all the decorations herself. (well, her family, not just her). And maybe instead of a traditional white pillow for the ring bearer it could be black velvet. Maybe you could paint your fangs on the cake topper. I hope you have a great wedding! Congrats on having a fiance who'll let you do an awesome vampire wedding!!

The 2 things that saved us the most $

- We had an 8pm wedding ceremony & dessert reception ((8pm was late enough so that people could eat beforehand))

- We didn't have an open bar... just a champagne & cider toast.

Other $ savers

- All of our decorations were ours (white twinkle lights, hanging fuschia baskets, etc.)

- We only paid for/catered the cake. Family potlucked the other desserts (chocolate covered strawberries, brownies, cupcake tower, fresh fruit dusted with edible "pixie dust", cookies, etc.). We provided a couple huge urns of coffee (courtesy Starbucks), and several gallons of punch / mint juleps / iced tea/ etc. in glass jars. ((There was a bar on property, so guests could drink if they wanted... and my FIL (bless his heart) brought along signs for some of the glass jars that said "spiked" (so the kids wouldn't get their first drink on accident)... and would periodically head out to his truck and head back in and spike one of the punches. ))

Since we had a lot of children in the wedding (our 2 year old was our ring bearer, 5year old neice the flower girl, and then tons of kids from infants to middle school)... we set up one of the rooms as a crash room for the little ones. Sleeping bags, dvd player with Pixar movies.

I really like the idea of a night wedding. That would go so well with your colors/theme. We got married at our local Botanical Conservatory. We only paid about $200 for the venue and $75 for a Justice of the Peace to marry us. It was nice because I didn't have to decorate. :) We could have rented the whole place for our reception, but we chose the local Community Center. I spent the bulk of my money on the reception. We did all the decorations, centerpieces and food ourselves. It saved us a TON of money. I'm lucky enough to have some REALLY crafty people in my family, so they did the bulk of the work. My stepmom did my invites, my cousin did my centerpieces and the rest of my family pitched in for the food. For the food, we served sandwiches, chips, cheesy potatoes, chicken wings, pasta salad, potato salad, veggie tray, cheese tray and a fruit tray. The only things I hired people to do were the boquets (i did fake for the bridesmaids and real for mine), the boutineers (again, fake for the groomsman, real for my dh); the dj, and the cake. Planning a wedding can be so much fun! And oh so much stress! The thing to remember is it's YOUR wedding. Don't let others dictate how you plan or what you do.
Congratulations and have FUN!

one quick idea, a friend of mine had her red/white wedding at a local haunted house -a real mansion that gives tours about the past residents- very beautiful house, with a 'creepy yet classic feel'. It was relatively cheap, as far as rental halls and stuff go, but it gave them AWESOME picture opportunities, and added lots of ambiance!

One place you could look for ideas is Etsy.com . They have tons of artisans who could help you with the fine details of your wedding, like your garter, jewelry, favors, and other little details that make weddings so special. I typed in vampire wedding and found tons of neat things like this garter set http://www.etsy.com/listing/44590361/red-and-black-vampir...

I like the idea of a night-time wedding with tons of candles everywhere, it would create a romantic and mysterious atmosphere with the flickering light and shadows. You could wear a pretty white gown, but maybe get a little vampy with your shoes, dark nails, dark makeup, etc. You could incorporate your love of motorcycles by riding off on a bike with your new husband. It would also be a really cool tribute to your dad. I think a castle setting would be awesome, but realize that you may not be able to do it on a strict budget, especially in the summertime when weddings are always more expensive. I would go with flowers that cooridinate with your theme, ones that are blood red in color. Red roses come to mind, but again your budget may limit that. That's why the candles are such a good idea, much cheaper than decorating with lots of flowers. Just maybe do some bud vases with candles on the tables. Also, use the blood red color as an accent for bridesmaids, decor, etc. You could also add a sash to your and/or your flower girl's gown. You could incorporate music from your favorite band in the ceremony and the reception. Consider hiring a string quartet or similar to play an instrumental version of one of your favorites, I think that would add to the romanticism and mystery and also could add a slightly creepy feel with the right song/arrangement. I would avoid hanging bats or things like that, unless you want it to look like a halloween party. For your reception, you could have a signature drink that looks like blood with names for the drinks that match your theme. Good luck, a summer wedding on a budget can be challenging, but it sounds like it will be an unforgettable evening. Congratulations!

Hi!
Congrats on your engagement! I too am a fellow Twilight Fanatic! LOL
I just celebrated my one year wedding anniversary. I fell in love with Bella's Lullaby from Twilight. I had my brides maids walk down the aisle to it. It was PERFECT! I didnt tell anyone our plans to do this & after the wedding some of my family & friends came up to me and said the song fit perfectly! Some of them such die hard Twilight fans that they wanted to get married again just to use that song. LOL
I really like your idea of the blood red but the white with it might look a little too much like Valentines day. You might want to add a touch of black into the little details. Just like the book covers. As your planning your wedding, bring the book along with you to make sure your color match. So blood red, white with black accents would look great.
A castle would be great, but can get expensive depending on the size. See if you can get married outdoors in a very green setting. Kinda like Forks Washington!
I can go on & on. Do alot of research online. Check out websites with your keywords being Twilight Wedding, etc. Order bridal magazines & books.
Let me know if you need any other help with ideas! i just went through all this a year ago!
Good luck!
Jenna

We got married at a place that does company picnics. It had an indoor and an outdoor space. It was much cheaper than a traditional wedding place. They had tons of great food and even made a better cake than a bakery. They let us decorate how we wanted. Places like Jo-Ann Fabrics and Christmas Tree shops have stuff for making your own invitations and decorations. Enjoy!

I too love evanescence, and the twilight soundtracks have fantastic music for seating, processional, reception. I saw a black wedding gown recently that was absolutely breathtaking! Or at least the bridesmaids in black or red, and I also like the idea of a black or red sash around your waist. I had black magic roses for my wedding, they're a beautiful dark red shade. And yes a night wedding with candles would be amazing!
