Where to Go at Disney World for Just 1 Day

My husband has a business trip to Orlando in a few weeks, and I will be coming with him while my parents are watching our boys. For those of you who have been to Disney World, if you only had one day to visit, which parts would you visit? My husband will be in meetings most of the weekend, so we only have Saturday free. Looking at the ticket prices online, you can get a one park ticket for $25, but it doesn't allow you to go to any other Disney parks. Is it worth the extra money to purchase a "park hopper" ticket for just one day? Any suggestions would be great!

What can I do next?

There is something for everyone. Pick the park based on what you like best. Here is my quick review of each park.
Magic Kingdom= It's the fantasy of your childhood. Princesses, pretty mild rides the classic disney. I loved it.
MGM= Old style Hollywood. Great stunt shows eat at 50's drive in theater or Prime time cafe.
Animal Kingdom= zoo like environment with rides some really great.
Epcot= You can spend time learning about science related stuff then "go around the world" in the world showcase. The people who work at each "country" are actually from the country represented.
Hope this helps have a wonderful trip. I would stay in just one park it is too stressful to move around for just one day.I would pick Epcot or MGM if I was alone. Go to tripadvisor.com they give lots of details. AND HAVE FUN LUCKY!!!

If you're just going for one day--don't buy a park hopper. Also, if it's just you and your husband for just one day, I'd go to the MGM Grand....I think it's a little older. Although, I don't know, there are pros and cons for all of them. You really should go to the disney website and look at each of the 4 places and see which would interest you and your husband the most. have fun!

Hi K.! I am a Florida native....born and raised...and up until 2 years ago I still lived there. Needless to say I have been to Disney more times than I can even begin to count! If you had the kids with you, I would highly recommend Disney World if you only have one day. It is a great place to visit and tons of fun! We just took our 4 year old and almost 2 year old in February and they loved it! Personally I am not a huge fan of the park hopper only because you feel so rushed to do everything in one day...it is a lot to try to accomplish! There is so much just to do in the Magic Kingdom alone that I honestly wouldn't try to do the park hopper. Epcot is also a very nice place especially when they are having their annual Around the World Food and Wine event but it isn't as kid friendly! But like I said, if you haven't been to Disney, then I would recommend Disney's The Magic Kingdom. Hope this helps!

K.,
We use to live in Jacksonville Florida so we frequented Disney World a lot. My personal favorite was Animal Kingdom. However, it really just depends on what you want to do. If you want thrill rides then there is a new park called Islands of adventure. They have all the really fast and big coasters and stuff like that. There is also Epcot, however, we found that kind of boring. The neat thing about Epcot is you can have lunch and dinner in the different "countries". I heard the Seaworld Discovery Cove is awesome. You can actually swim with the dolphins and sting rays there. I hope this helps a little.

Unless you are staying at a Disney resort and plan to be at Disney-MGM Studios at opening I would avoid that park and go to any other for the day. It's not worth it to park hop, in my opinion. It's hard enough to see one park in one day.

I'm curious where you found the one day/one park ticket price that you quoted. Everything I've found has the price at $71 per person for just one day.

I am from Clearwater so we have been to Disney a bunch. And I think that with a 4 year old and a 20 month you will only be able to see one park a day. And still the best is the Magic Kingdom park. You get to see all the disney characters and there is tons of rides for the younger set. Epcot is too adult for young kids. and the Animal kingdom was pretty lame when we were there last. YOu get better anmilas at a regular zoo. I did like MGM though. But there were a lot of rides that we could not go on since my daughter was too short.
Hope that helps. Have a nice trip.
