Try the JC Penney Catalogue. You could also go to a consignment sale. There are some huge ones coming up in Feb and March through Divine Consign. www.divineconsign.net
We're looking for some well-made yet reasonably priced nursery furniture. I've checked BRUs, Pottery Barn Kids and Baby Depot. Anyone have a favorite shop they could recommend?
thanks!

Baby World on Inwood has the most beautiful baby furniture and custom bedding. I went to many stores in the North Dallas area and by far it was the most reasonable custom bedding prices in the metroplex. Good luck.
I saved at least $1000 if not more on our baby furniture. It was very time consuming but well worth it. I may have spent 2-3 months. I looked everywhere online for furniture I liked not caring about the price. Once I found it, I searched places like www.bizrate.com, www.nextag.com, and www.shopping.com (maybe it was www.shopzilla.com). These are all comparison shopping places, and I checked all of them because they sometimes had different things. You search for the brand and name of furniture you want, sort by price, and you can find excellent deals. Pay attention to shipping, though. Some places get you on the shipping and some have free shipping, so don't just go with the first one on the list. You may also find a less expensive brand of furniture that looks much like the one you choose. That's what I did, and I also got lucky with a small store in our home town who said he would meet or beat any price we found online. He wasn't expecting me to find it so cheap, though. I think I paid $740 for furniture that looks almost identical to my friend's, and she paid over $2000 for hers! It's very well worth it. I did this with everything I bought (bedding, etc). Good luck and happy hunting! OH, and believe it or not walmart.com has a TON of great furniture that will ship for free to your nearest wal-mart store.
I had to buy for twins, so I was definitely trying to get the most bang for my buck. I ended up at USA Baby - Loved them and their selection, and the staff is also super knowledgable. They also have a great layaway plan so you don't have to pick the furniture up until you are ready for it. Congrats!
USA BABY IN FRISCO HAS A GREAT SELECTION!
Burlington Coat Factory Irving Mall and Grapevine Mills.
I second Baby World in Dallas on Inwood. It's across the highway from the Galleria. Similar beds to Pottery Barn and other more expensive places, but better prices. We got our upholstered rocker/glider(looks like a regular chair) there and we couldn't beat the price anywhere for what we got.
Good Luck!

We actually bought our crib at walmart. I wasn't really expecting much out of it when we bought it because of how much we paid for it but it has been through 4 moves and two kids and is still going strong.
Hello, I can't say I would recommend these places, but at least they are places you could check out.
www.woodenswing.com (they've got furniture and outdoor swings)

We got Janey's stuff at USA Baby, but I also liked Baby World's selection.
The Magic Moon in Southlake and one in Plano. It is family owned all custom furniture and bedding. It is more expensive than the other recommendations but well worth it. Your child has a unique room. They have a website www.themagicmoon.com.
Also Julia Roberts cribs are from here. Hope this helps.
Baby Depot and Babies R Us probably have the best prices. However, I've seen some wonderful sets at resale shops too, and of course their prices are pretty reasonable.
We ended up going with USA Baby-great selection & friendly staff! I did recently see some nicer stuff at Babies R Us-I think they are getting a bit trendier. Happy Shopping!
