When Did Your Childs First Tooth Fall Out?

You all will probably just have to keep waiting patiently:) If his teeth are in good shape, he's healthy, and developing well, he will lose his first tooth soon. Sometimes kids lose their first tootha at age five, sometimes not unil age 7. The tooth fairy will be there when she needs to be.

My 1st child lost her first tooth when she was 5 but my second did not loose her first tooth till she was either 7 or 8 so I wouldn't panic it will come..

My oldest girl turned 6 in May.... her first tooth feel out in Aug. The other's aren't loose at all though! Fun times!

My daughter lost her first when she was 7 years old. My son is 8 years old and has not lost any teeth yet. The dentist say's it okay, and not to worry. He had x-rays done and they say he has all of his teeth coming up. Hope this helps.

My daughter just lost her first tooth (bottom front) and she is 7 1/2 years old. The dentist took a full mouth xray when she was 6 and said, "All kids are different. And it looks like she will be between 7 and 8 when she starts to lose her teeth. Don't worry about it they will eventually come out." So, good luck and be patient! My dentist also said that the longer the teeth have to come in, the better, because there is less time for the teeth to be exposed to elements and therefore less opportunity for decay. So being a late bloomer in this case is a good thing!

Every kid is different. I know it's hard to wait when all the other kids are losing their teeth but my son was almost eight before he lost his first tooth. He has had to have several teeth pulled because the other teeth have come in behind the baby teeth and the baby teeth still did not fall out. Just watch out for that because you need to catch it early so the permanent teeth have room to come in straight. X-rays will show where his permanent teeth are at.

My son also just lost his last baby tooth (or rather had it pulled) last year at age 14. His mouth just doesn't like giving them up. My twins are almost 11 now and they have not lost any teeth except the front eight.
I hear that the later your permanent teeth come in the healthier they are. Not sure if that is true.

My son just lost his first tooth last week and he will be 7 in November. He couldn't wait to lose it because a lot of the kids his age have already lost a couple. My niece lost hers when she was 5.

My oldest son was affraid he would *never* lose a tooth! It was hard in school when his friends would lose one and he wasn't even close. He lost his first one at about 6 1/2. Since then he has lost two but no more (he turned 7 last weekend) His friend lost a bunch early, we know other kids who are closer to 7 1/2 before they lose any!

Good idea with the body glitter, we use just regular glitter and leave a bit on the windowsill, pillow and bedpost :) My 4 1/2 year old girl is more excited about the fairy dust than the money big brother got!

My oldest lost her teeth pretty early like 4 but my other daughter didn't loose her first tooth until about 7 . What I have heard is the longer the baby teeth stay in the mouth the Healthier the permanent teeth will be. Check with your dentist if you can or go on line to see what you can find out.

I'm a Mom of 3 boys. My oldest 2 are just 14 months apart and they lost their first tooth within the same week of eachother. At that point, they were just 7 and nearly 6. Now, a little over a year later, they both just lost tooth #5. We are keeping the tooth fairy busy :)

My oldest daught started loosing teeth around 5.5 y/o and my youngest was almost 5.

Hi T., My daughter is 9 tomorrow and she lost her 2 front one's when she was 5 and since has only lost 1 more. My son will be 6 next month and isn't even close to losing any yet, which is good because he's afraid to lose any! I think everyone is different and it will happen in due time! P.S. When the time comes and the tooth fairy visits (if you are going to do that)...rub some body glitter on the coins and he will be thrilled!

Late six to mid seven. It depends on the child. If your dentist has taken films he could give you a good idea as to when to expect the first round of tooth fairy duty.

My daughter started losing teeth when she was 5, but my son didn't until way after he turned 6. Now he's missing four teeth with no sign of the new ones yet!

My son is six and no sign of the tooth fairy yet.

My son is 6 and looks SOOOOO funny! He first lost the bottom two just prior to Christmas. Then this summer (turned 6 in June) he lost the top two within a day of each other that had been really wriggly for like a month! Then while on vacation playing with his cousin, he suddenly paused on his way outside and showed me his loose tooth, I was surprised and asked when did that happen? His response: I dont know, maybe just now! then not 15 mins later, he was eating a reallllly soft sugar cookie from the store and then mumbled & signed to me through a mouthful of cookie "Mm, I think my tooth came out!" (sure enough it had, quickest & easiest tooth to come out! and I hadn't even known it was loose till minutes before!)
Within another month or so? ALL 4 of his top teeth were GONE. What a gummer he was !!! And he still loved corn on the cob!

Now he has these two big huge front teeth growing in in that space where the 4 baby teeth were. Looks funny! His bottom two teeth are growing in, but since the neighboring teeth haven't fallen out, they will have to be pulled because the adult teeth are too crowded and growing back behind the baby teeth still in place.

So, dont fret, be glad your little sweetie still got his baby teeth. And teach him good brushing habits now, if you haven't already! Dentists aren't cheap, especially if they have to do some work!
