I haven't been diagnosed with cervical cancer but I work for a laboratory and I concentrate in the OBGYN specialty. Most patients are asymptomatic but may have unexplained bleeding or bleeding after intercourse. Paps and cervical biopsies are how my clients diagnose it.

I had one friend who died of it because it spread to her whole body. She had light bleeding for a year and ignored it and refused to see a doctor.

I used to work with a girl who had it. She never had any symptoms until one day she felt a lump on her rib...they had the lump checked out and the cancer had already spread to other places in her body. She unfortunately passed away around 18 months or 2 years later, she was only around 26 when she passed away. The sad thing is, is that she received the depo shot and her gyn never made her get pap smears done, so they could have caught it early.

I had no symptoms of cervical cancer. I had vaginal warts removed in 2000. I did not have a pap smear that had abnormal cells until the one that lead to my diagnosis in 2006.

So far I've never known anyone to have it.
We've had scares with the abnormal pap but never diagnosed, just fixed prior to.
