Roku box, Netflix, a magazine subscription, a Nook reader, a couple of really good thick steaks, movie tickets....
Any ideas are welcome.
He is obviously older, doesn't have any more hobbies really.
He liked to be on his computer, watch TV etc.
What do you think?
TIA

This doesn't cost much, but is very valuable.
I would, WRITE a poem that you think of yourself. Or write a "letter" to him.... In your own handwriting... expressing all that he means to you and how much you appreciate him, even for the little things that he may not think means anything to you.
Write a poem. And put it in a frame, that you can get from a drug store. It doesn't cost much.
But this is very.... thoughtful and meaningful. More meaningful than something bought.
The reason I say this is:
I don't have a Dad anymore.
He died several years ago.
He was the best Dad ever. We were close. He was perfect in my eyes. And he always... always... valued me for me. As a human. As a person. As a child. As an Adult. As an individual. And that is golden. That is the best "gift" that he gave me, all my life that he was alive.
And what really touched him, from me... was not bought gifts. But something that came from my heart.
It is irreplaceable.
Get him a mousepad at Walgreens, Target or Shutterfly with a picture of his grandkids on it.
Is there something that he would like for his computer, or that would make his computing easier? Some kind of security system? A more user-friendly keyboard?
I think make him a home made card, fix him dinner or a nice dessert. If he likes to go out....take him to his favorite place (if you can afford). Is your Mom still with you?
Blessings.
Mousepad with pic of your kid(s)?
What about a few classic movies?
Food snack basket? Nuts, popcorn, candy, coffee, pretzels, mustards, etc?
Time is ticking (at least on the East Coast) so maybe a default gift card for a place he likes to eat?
Does he enjoy watching movies? You could get him a Netflix subscription, if it's in your budget.
Movie tickets or DVDs or a iTunes card - whichever would be his preference. Put in a basket or box with candy, popcorn and drinks.
My Dad loves gift certificates to Outback or CheeseCake Factory. My Dad and my uncle both love baseball so I just got them both Ken Burns Baseball documentary on DVD from Amazon.com. It was 1/2 price.
