L.A.
I have an iPad, all 3 of us have them, I have always had MAC computers.
I run my business through my iPad. Love it..
No problems.
Ok, we are finally going to break down and buy a tablet, but I'll be the first to admit, I'm a bit tech savy lacking. Originally I wanted to get an iPad since I've now had to iPhones (4 & 5), so I'm use to working on Apple products and operating systems. However, I've heard mixed reviews on them. So I'm asking you all out there for feed back on what you love, hate, or otherwise on tablets you've used or currently have.
TIA!

Nook, because I can take it to any Barnes & Noble and get in person customer service support without waiting in long lines like at the Apple store.
I love my Nook - it functions just the same as all my friends' iPads. We can sit in the same coffee shop and look up the same things at the same speed and we can read the same books and our kids can be entertained just the same, only my tablet didn't cost an arm and a leg.
iPad.
Since you already have Apple products.
You can then sync, all of them together.
Very convenient.
We have one.
It is awesome.
Get an iPad.
We have iPad, iPhone, Mac computers, iTouch... and it can ALL work TOGETHER.
AND you can take classes at any Apple store, to learn anything on it and it is free.
Even my elderly Mom, does that.
I have an I Pad and my guys all have I Pods. I like it because we have one Apple account.

iPad. Why? Quality. We have had a nexus 7, and a Galaxy. We like them both, but the quality of the glass, the customer service, the ability to work with other devices and the ease of use far outweigh the expense. You can find a cheap one used too.
The bonus of going to an ipad is that all your paid apps/music/movies would be able to be used on the ipad without extra cost.
Love my iPad. I have a first generation one I got when it first came out. Never had a problem with it to take to the Apple Store.
My sis has a second gen, my H a third gen. Now they are even lighter.
We have lots of different tablets in the house. iPad is my favorite because it has the best apps.
I enjoy greatly my ipad mini. I love it the most because I can fit it in my handbag! I have a clamshell case for it with a built in keyboard so it has turned it into a little laptop.
I'm on the verge of buying a Microsoft Surface RT. I saw one at a conference I was attending, and talked to the woman who had it and she loved it.
Here are my reasons: 1) it's less expensive than an iPad. 2) I need to be able to go back and forth between the tablet and my work computer. My computer is a PC with Office on it, and the RT comes with Office on it. So it will substitute for my computer when I'm working away from my office. 3) I am not a gamer, I don't much care about apps.
If you don't need it for work, but are strictly going to play on it - check email, facebook, mamapedia :), and play games. And you are ok with the price, then I would recommend the iPad. My husband has an iPad for playing around on, and he loves it. It has a lot more apps than microsoft does.
I have a Nook Tablet. That's actually an older model, as the currant model is the Nook HD. I agree with Ally that it does pretty much everything the IPad does. It's also MUCH cheaper, and it's wonderful to be able to walk into a Barns and Noble and say, "Um, why is it doing this?" or "How do I make it do that?" Here's the thing, though, and the reason it's so cheap. Barnes and Noble is no longer going to be making the Nook tablets. They are only going to continue making the simple Nooks. They do have an arrangement with Google, so the Nook HD will run the Google Aps.
Hope that helps you make a decision.
I love my Kindle Fire. That being said I type regularly on a Google ChromeBook and I have a Nokia Lumia Windows phone.
So the idea that I was saving money by not buying an Ipad is somewhat moot. :P
On the other hand there's a video player that Ipad doesn't use (can't remember the name of it - is it FlashPlayer?) so you may want to research that if certain videos are important to you.
Love my iPad 3.
No trouble. No fuss.
Our family has several Nexus tablets and we are extremely happy with them! There is a very good balance of quality and price!
Hey -
My parents bought me a nook as a gift years ago. I found that the web surfing interface was slow and not that user friendly. Plus, I already had an iphone, so buying the same app I like for the nook kind of annoyed me. When Ipad 2's came out, I finally bought an ipad 1 off of Ebay. It was in excellent condition and we use it as a family. I THOUGHT I was going to love it. But honestly, it's too big. However, my kids love it. Then, I won an ipad mini at work. I use it NONSTOP. I LOVE IT. It's the perfect size and it uses all of the apps I already have on my phone. Plus, with the overdrive app, I download books from the libary directly to my ipad (wirelessly). So ,this has completely taken over anything I used the nook for. Plus, as someone else said, I can drop the mini into my purse - which is awesome. My kids still use the nook and the ipad 1. So, they are being utilized in our house, just not by me.
So, the ipad mini is my favorite. However, I am thinking about using points from my credit card to get an Amazon fire. I'm a prime member and what I like about the Fire (concept wise) is that you get a lot of free movies and books with your AMazon Prime account. I think my son would enjoy that.
Good luck!
