It's my husband's birthday and he requested the following for dinner:
Meatloaf
Mashed potatoes
Steamed broccoli
Chocolate cake

I didnt go to work today so we had a huge breakfast of porkchops, eggs and fried potatoes. I'm spying a frozen pizza in the freezer for when husband finally asks "what are we havin for dinner?" He hasnt asked yet and I'm drinkin a beer.
Edit: I ended up making stirfry noodles and veggies instead of the pizza.
Shepherd's pie tonight! Funny, it has meat and mashed potatoes in it! I also found some pumpkin pie flavored ice cream at the store....look out! :-)
I got homemade chili going in the crockpot early this morning..it's been cooking all day....mmmm my house smells so good. I will whip up some cornbread later. It has been raining out here in my neck of the woods so a hot bowl of chili will hit the spot today!

we're having celebratory Chinese because I got a new job! Yay! Only laid off for a week!

Ramen noodles, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and gold fish crackers.
Cook ramen and then add green food coloring. Take wide hot dog and cut them into 8 slices leaving about an inch at the top. Cook the hot dogs and they will curl to resemble octopuses. Put the octopus on the green seaweed (ramen)
The crackers are to add to the theme and the corn is b/c this is the corn husker state and I have corn on the cob coming out my ears! My son loves the novelty of this poor man's dinner. :-)
It's my birthday, too, and I have no idea what we're going to have. :)
I'm thinking a bowl of popcorn because by the time I make something I won't want a meal, and it will probably be pretty late. My kids will eat whatever they are willing to eat because they're getting over stomach flus and I'll make anything if they'll eat it!
My husband's working until 11 tonight, too, and I hate making big meals when he's at work.
Maybe pizza (but the kids have had that a lot and I don't feel like making it), or leftover Swedish meatballs (easy, all I have to do is cook the noodles). But first I'll have to clean the kitchen, and I'm supposed to be working from home since I'm here, not at work, and the work's still gotta get done. Hope he has a great day!

Potato and leek soup and crispy kale.
And some homemade vanilla bean/bourbon cupcakes with homemade chocolate ganache for icing. Really the best part of dinner by far.
Last time I went to the store they had $12.99 bbq ribs on managers clearance for $4.99 so I bought 2 of them and thats what we are having with mashed potatoes and a veggie.

Baked chicken, scalloped potatoes, and Velveeta Shells N Cheese (per my request). Then probably top it off with some Moose Tracks ice cream.....om nom nom!!!

we grilled out tonight--our weather has been PERFECT in Virginia this week and we've been grilling and eating outside every night. Tonight we had some pork bulgogi, grilled eggplant and sweet potato fries. I'm wishing I had some of your chocolate cake to wash it all down though! Happy Birthday to Mr. Jubee!

My boss is taking us out for Tex-Mex to celebrate meeting a steep goal. But if I were cooking, it would be Steak and Potatoes to celebrate my husbands new job. He's a steak and potatoes kind of guy!

My DH is having the leftovers from our heart attack dinner last night: fried pork chops, mashed potatoes/milk gravy....& hopefully a salad. It's my husband's fav dinner & I make it only 1-2 times each year....

Last night hubs made chicken soup which was pretty fantastic. Tonight it's a toss up between what the kids want (bacon, eggs & grits) & what I want (baked ham & hashbrown casserole). Hmm...I wonder who's going to win...?
