M.B.
I have a business membership to sams club so I can get in at 730;) it's pretty awesome...I do wish malls opened earlier, would be nice to go shopping first thing
Does anyone else get frustrated that most stores don't open until 9 or 10? I could get SO many more errands done if other stores were actually open.
Only grocery stores and Target/Wal-Mart stores seem to open at 8.
COSTCO! Please, open earlier!
Yep, I'm out of the house M-F by 7:10 am, with 3 kids loaded in the car. After I drop my oldest off at school at 7:40 I would LOVE to be able to get stuff done. I hate having to come home, get the other 2 kids out of the car, only to have to load them again at 9:45 so we can start our shopping by 10 and be home by 11:30 for lunch and naps. TOTALLY messes with my day to have to wait around....and then I just come on here to complain about things until the stores open ;-)

My gosh, I say this ALL the time. My son is off to school and I'm ready to run errands...and no place to go!
The one that drove me craziest was Babies R Us. Drop off big sister at school, don't want to go home, unload baby, reload baby, get to BRU at 10 - and they really were the cheapest place in town to buy diapers, so I kind of HAD to go there...
On the flip side, I worked at Barnes and Noble that didn't open until 9. Still had to get there at 7 am to get the store ready for the day (count out cash, lay out new sales racks, cook the pastries, make coffee, etc, etc - this after going home at midnight the night before, because of cleaning up the store from the day - I worked many turnaround shifts, some with a newborn at home that still got 2am feedings). So I do try to be extra thankful for places like Home Depot that open at 7. The employees may very well have been there since 5.
I'm with you! My kids are early risers, so I would LOVE to be able to get my errands done on a Saturday morning before 10:00. The baby is ready for a nap by 11, so it really limits my options.
Grocery stores are usually open early, so that's typically my first stop on a Saturday morning. At least that one can get checked off nice and early!
Yep--it stinks. I'm the sane way--the earlier the better.
Lowes, Home Depot, target, grocery stores are on my early hit parade.
I love it at Christmastime when Macy's opens at 5 or 6!
I'm also old enough to remember when NOTHING was open 24 hours and NOT MUCH was open on Subdays.
Slow progress.....
Very annoying, isn't it! Do you have Smith's (Kroger) in your area? We have 2 nearby, 1 opens at 7 or 8 am and the other is open 24 hours. I think that their prices are good (I hear from lots of moms in my area that Smith's prices are generally the best, so far that is what I have seen and they have a much better produce dept than Walmart or Target). Smith's Marketplace has groceries, furniture, toys, garden, clothes, etc, similar to a super walmart.
Yeah...I had errands to run one morning before I left town and Costco was on my list...thinking they opened at 0900 - I got out there - happy to find a somewhat empty parking lot...only to discover...darn it!! they aren't open!! 10AM! ? WHAT?!?!?!
We have several local grocery stores - Harris Teeter is 24 hours, Giant opens at 0600...
It would be nice if stores like Costco and Sams Club opened earlier. If they did - I would shop there at that time!!
Not sure what stores open at 0800...even typical stores (other than Target, Wal-Mart, grocery stores) don't open until 10AM....
Trader joes opens at 8.
But I can't believe the stores that don't open till 10!
i hear ya!!!went to the post office (the branch at the strip mall) at 830 and come to find out it didn't open until 9 but the liquor store next door opens at 8---um.....
I know, I've often thought that.
Walgreen's is open at 8am. Rite Aid & CVS might, too.
When I was working, I'd be in a pinch & had to stop by a gas station & go
inside to p/u milk, bread or a scratch off ticket for a card/gift.
Also, we have a few 24 hr stores here & most grocery stores open at 6am and close at 11pm.
Kohl's, Shopper's Food, CVS, the mall for walkers.
It saves them $ on labor costs. Home Depot and Lowes are open very early - HD at 6am
I totally agree. Target gets so much of my business because of this reason. Costco needs to take a hint.
Most stores by me are open at 8, grocery, dollar store and Target. It is probably because I live in one of the most popular tourist areas. There are always people coming and going around here.
I agree too. So many times I drop of my son at preschool at 9 and wish Costco would be open already. It opens at 10 and then I have to pick up a kinder at 11! No time....
I know what you mean. Especially on weekends. We tend to get up around 7am in our house and usually ready to run errands by 8am. At least Cub is open 24 hours, Wal-mart opens at 7am, Target at 8am and Kohl's usually 8am. So we tend to go to the earlier opening stores first. I like to have our running around done before lunch so we can enjoy our afternoons. :)
CVS stores, in my area, open early.
7:00am or so.
I get all my errands done, early after I take the kids to school.
Walmart stores are also open 24 hours. In my area.
And Walgreens are open early too, before 8:00am.
I wouldn't say I get frustrated but it is very annoying that so few stores open earlier than 9 or 10. Especially since I'm a morning person! My local grocery store opens at 7:00 and I love it because I'm able to put my daughter on the bus and then go right to the grocery. But then I have to come back home and wait for all the others to open. My library doesn't open till 10:00 and I really wish they would open at 9:00.
Glad to see I'm not alone in my thinking!!
I've often thought the same thing . . . our Whole Foods is in a retail complex with other stores that don't open until 9-10 am. I always wish I could run into Bed Bath or Nordstrom Rack around 8:30 after I've made a pit stop at Whole Foods. I generally won't stick around and wait.
I feel the same way. On the weekends, I get up earlier than the rest of my family. I would LOVE IT if I could run my errands at that time, when the stores aren't so crowded. Things like shoe shopping, clothes shopping, etc. It would be nice to do those things earlier. Ugh...
