What questions does the nurse ask during an intake? I know it has a lot to do with family history, but I don't know much about my family medical history. So what will I need to know before the intake?

most of those medical questions were filled out ahead of time at my hospital i had to go in around 7 months prego and fill out the forms so they were all done in the event of an emergency. all they really asked me at intake was about how i was feeling and billion questions about any recreational drugs i or my husband had done EVER in our life. and what kind of birth plan i had set out for myself. then lots of poking and prodding :)
History of cancer, heart disease, etc. But if you don't know, you can just tell them that.
They want to be aware if there are any medical issues they need to watch out for. If all 4 grandparents died from heart disease, your parents both have it and you have high cholesterol and blood pressure they will know that if something happens to focus on your heart and rule out anything there first.
A lady I used to work with had a sister that went in for a routine knee surgery and didn't tell the Doc's anything about family history and she had a massive heart attack on the operating table and nearly didn't make it. She only did because the nurse came out and told the sister there had been a complication and was there anything they needed to know. She told the nurse about the heart disease in the family and they were able to pinpoint the heart attack more quickly. The sister didn't think it was important because her surgery wasn't heart related.
just tell them as much as you can... i have that trouble with my children.. they are adopted and i have no health background on them.. and i just put that.... and the stuff i do know since they have been in my family.. but things i don't know ....i dont know....
