chicken nuggets, hot dogs, quesadillas, grilled cheese, and things like that for lunch, since she eats before i'm ready to eat for lunch. so she gets kid foods for that.
for breakfast she gets bagels with cream cheese, cereal, eggs, cinnamon toast, sometimes fruit if we have it. when we have my fiance's sons they often ask for peanut butter jelly toast for breakfast.
for dinner she typically eats what we eat, unless its something we know she won't like. like tonight we're having mushroom swiss burgers and she won't like it, so she's having popcorn chicken, french fries, corn, and a brownie for dessert.
Anything and everything! In the last few days, she's had yogurt, toast with jelly and kiwis, eggs with bacon and biscuits and gravy, and cereal with milk and mangos for breakfasts. We've had raisin and walnut tamales with apples and corn, mac and cheese kids meal with carrots and applesauce at a restaurant plus some nachos for lunches. Dinners have been squash soup and salad, eggplant parmesan with pesto pasta, tofu and broccoli stirfry with rice and pot roast with carrots and potatoes.
whatever the child will eat.
But of course not junk food.
And no, I am not a short-order cook.
But I know what makes my family/kids tic, and what they like.
I cook, they eat.
I don't feed junk. Nor buy it.
So whatever they eat, is healthy anyway.
my son will be two in the begining half of august. He eats oatmeal with fruit in it almost everyday for breakfast or sometimes scambled eggs and bananas. for lunch he eats chicken nuggets and applesauce or mac and cheese, pea soup with crackers, yogurt and fruit and a carrot bran muffin, and for dinner he usually has one of the lunch items or sometimes what we are eating.
bananas, raisins, grapes (sliced), watermelon, sliced chedder cheese, string cheese, roasted veggies of all kinds, roasts of various kinds of meat which we use to flavor the veggies, home-made soups with the vegetables lifted out with a slotted spoon, noodles, grilled cheese, salads of various varieties, cereal bars, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, spaghetti, on a very rare occasion ravioli (but only because I crave it, not because I think it's healthy), frozen fruit mixes, yogurt, apple sauce cups, and I could really go on and on. Nothing is off limits. It's just cooked a little differently or drained of juice or cut just so for safety.
- Breakfast - spinach and garlic omlette or cereal with milk and some fruit
- Lunch - Plain yogurt with blueberries or spinach and cheese whole wheat quesadilla - cut into pizza shapes
- Dinner - whatever we're having, a lot of rice with sauteed veggies
- snacks - grapes cut in half
- "big chunks" of pear
- kashi TLC crackers (all kids that come to our house seem to love those)
- raw cashews
- dried dates and papaya
some things are messy, but 2 yr olds are pretty good with a spoon, and it helps them learn.

for breakfast she always has a fruit(any and all kinds) with some type of calcium/protein , either cheese(stick,wedge, cottage, ricotta, or slice) or a, plain yogurt(greek, low fat or regular) I add agave nectar and flax seed , sometimes lemon, to the yogurt.
for a snack she has dehydrated fruit, crackers or baked chips, or a fruit and grain bar (nutri, or cliff)
for lunch she ALWAYS has half an avocado, and whatever veggie i have on hand, she likes peas, beans, cooked and raw carrots, cooked and raw broccolli, depending on her mood i give her "mock meat", but usually not, its really me that likes that stuff.
for dinner she always eats what we eat, just a smaller portion, this usually includes a salad, and your typical american food (minus the meat, or replaced by a substitute)
i never have dessert myself because im a total diet nazi right now, but if they want a dessert there is nutella usually in the pantry and i will buy them ice cream and sometimes make muffins or cookies. This is rare though.
****im a total short order cook, my oldest daughter eats healthy too, but her breakfast and lunch are completely different from my 2 year old. My husband will eat anything. I cater to their individual tastes with creativity and planning because i enjoy it, and its great for them to know they can eat what they like, and what they like can be good for them. It teaches them life long lessons of options and nutrition.
I fed DS exactly what we were eating for breakfast and dinner. For lunches (3 days a week) we packed a lunch.
Breakfast - whole grain cereal, milk, fruit (bananas, any kind of berries, melon, peaches, grapefruit, anything). On weekends - french toast, waffles, scrambled eggs, bagel and lox plus fruit and milk
Lunch - one protein or sandwich item (PB&J on whole wheat, plain yogurt with chopped fruit in it, cheese, left overs from the night before), one or two veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, green peppers, cucumber, edamame) and one or two fruit servings (apple, berries, peaches, plums, etc)
Dinner - generally a fish/seafood/chicken/meat or whole grain pasta item, vegetable and fruit for dessert.
The only things we do differently than before having a child is we keep more fruit in the house. We have never kept 'child friendly' foods or 'snacks' in the house and do not plan to (DS is 5).

Both my kids have been eating whatever the family eats since about 14 months. :)
I feed my 18 month old whatever we eat, but she doesn't eat anything leafy like salads or broccoli or califlower. She also won't eat anything in a sandwich, but she will eat all the components of a sandwich seperately. She really likes pastas, meats, summer sausage, steak, chicken, frozen veggies, asparagus, potatoes in any form, ice cream, raviolis, string cheese. She is not big on cereals, but she loves scrambled eggs. She also likes burritos and enchaladas. Basically, she will eat anything that we eat unless its spicy or a veggie she doesn't like. Try most anything, your little one may surprise you.
