Every now and again I feel restless. Not anxious. I am not worried about anything I am just....restless. What do you do when you feel this way?

Walk the dogs, walk the kids, work in the yard, work in the house, go for a drive, call my sister. It happens to the best of us when you feel like walking in circles around you house a million times. Something that relaxes you and lets you take a couple deep breaths usually out of the house works for me

Well......I really, really wish I could say that I clean like a whirlwind, bake enough for an army or exercise like I'm training for the Olympics.......but alas, I DON'T!!!

I read, sing or call my mom, a friend or one of my sisters. Also, getting in the car and just going somewhere helps. Sometimes a change of scenery is all it takes!

Do you have any hobbies you can readily go to, to occupy your hands? Like knitting, sewing, beading, cross word puzzles, jig saw puzzles?

I play the piano, or take a walk with the dog, or start the laundry, or do a few floor exercises, or garden, or sweep the porch. Stepping outside and getting fresh air helps or going for an errand. And now there is always Mamapedia - my new addiction....

Get out my supply of beads, etc. and make a necklace or bracelet. Bake cookies. Sew. I am a voracious reader...But find when I am feeling restless and just a teensy bit anxious/mind-racing...That reading makes it worse.

It all depends on my mood at the time. Sometimes read, sometimes do some cleaning or chores, watch a movie, take a walk or do something outside, or just take some "me" time (long hot shower, hot bath, something to just relax and relieve unknown stress). Not unusual to happen, so big thing is don't let it annoy you more. :-) Happens to us all. :-)

Exercise.
It releases pent up restlessness and is relaxing.

I take a walk or I journal. Usually my mind is racing about something when I am feeling restless and it helps to just clear my mind. If all else fails--take a relaxing bath! That helps me. Hope it helps you too!
