I'm just looing for suggestions. I like red, grey, black, light blue. What color shirts/sweaters do you think look nice with dark grey or charcoal grey pants?
i love my charcoal grey pants because they give me so many options. as many have suggested, bright and jewel tones will work. but what really looks sharp and snazzy with mine is a monochrome look with a single pop accent. one of my favorite outfits is my charcoal slacks, a plain white underthing (could be a blouse but more usually a dressy tank top), a pretty black cardigan, and a peacock-toned scarf.
red would be a standout too.
light blue would be iffy. it would depend on the tones involved.

My favorite color with gray is pink.
I don't wear yellow (I'm a winter) but my sister is an interior designer and she frequently pairs gray with yellow in the rooms she designs so that would probably look great on someone who can wear those colors.

So many options:) I love periwinkle with charcoal grey. I also like a nice vibrant pink with them. A crisp white top with silver accessories would rock too :)

I am actually wearing charcoal grey pants today. My shirt is a black and white print with tiny touches of apricot. I have a red blouse that I just bought to go with them too as they are the most comfortable pants I own. One of my co workers wears a beautiful turquoise blouse with her grey slacks.
I think any color that flatters you would work. Stacey London and Clinton Kelly say that as grey is a neutral, ANY color works with it.

Grey is a neutral so you can really wear any color (except maybe grey- grey on grey might be too much). I personally like lilac or purple with grey. :)

I often wear a blue top with a white cami with my grey pants...or a deep purple top with a black cami. Both look great, just very different "moods". I think bright colors go really well with grey also.

It is pretty much like black or white. Anything goes with it except other shades of the same color. So in the case of grey, the only thing that doesn't work are other shades of grey, or at least those that look like you are trying to match it and failed.

Charcoal gray is a neutral, so anything matches!
From lime green to pink to fuschia -- even caramel & cream, mustard etched.
Me personally? I wear black, teal or a print, paisley, etc....

I like red with charcoal, but grey goes with a lot of colours. Black is always fine with charcoal too.

Any color that you like. Greys and silvers with pearls look great. I say any color depending on your mood for the day. For professional probably the blue or grey. You could do a bright color blouse or sweater and a darker color over top. Have fun and enjoy.

Black, white, pink, light blue. I always have trouble with grey - love the way it looks, but then I have trouble using it in an outfit. Good luck!

Anything goes with charcoal grey. Anything.
Until I lost weight recently my fav work pants were charcoal grey. I haven't gotten around to replacing them with a pair don't won't fall down.
My favorite though is the deep red, almost oxblood blouse that I snagged at the thrift store. The labels had been cut out of it but I decided that even if it was dry-clean only I had to have it. Paired it with the above-mentioned grey slacks and oxblood heels. Tons of compliments.

I think you can wear any color you'd wear with Navy. Charcoal is sort of similar. I can't stand seeing navy and brown together and it makes sense to me to not wear brown with charcoal. I like crisp colors with charcoal.

It really just depends on what your style/personality is.....
Mod
alternative
conservative
retro
sporty
vintage
edgy
artsy
etc.
or whatever else.
So with that in mind, color combinations w/grey will vary. Depending on you. Grey goes with anything.

all the jewel tones: turquoise, magenta, red, yellow.
I would not pair grey with any other neutral but black and white. No browns or navys. Tans would be better than brown or navy but probably not ideal.

I like the mustard-yellow color that's kind of trendy right now. I think this color looks good with grey.
Have you ever seen "J's Everyday Fashion" blog? It's awesome- she takes high-end catalog pictures and shows you how to recreate the same look with clothes from Target/Kohl's/Old Navy, etc.
Even at my age, I know I can't pull off much of what she does, but I love looking at the color combinations and accessories that she uses. It's fun!
I would think any bright color, which will really "pop" with the dark charcoal.

Any color would look. I really like bright colors with gray like teal, yellow, or orange but really any color would work. I've paired bright purple boots(suede) with my gray dress. Sounds odd but it does look good.

Grey is a neutral, so theoretically you can wear lots of colors with it. As with every color, of course, there are many shades of grey, so you still have to choose. It's just a bit easier than with green or pink. Go to your closet and take out the tops in the shades that you really look best and happiest in. Give them a try; some or many of them will be fine with the pants you've chosen. You'll probably find one or two (at least) that are excellent!
