I have no experience other than the Medela Pump in Style but I was not impressed with it. It was not as efficient as baby so I was glad I didn't need to use it often.
We are expecting #4 and I am looking into recommendations for an electric breast pump (preferably a dual one). I plan to breastfeed and pump as a supplement. In the past I rented one from the hospital for a couple of months but this time I am going to try to breast feed and pump for at least 6 months now that I am a stay at home mom. I have read some online reviews and would like to bet your opinions as well before we make an investment. Thanks!
Thank you all for the feedback. I have added the medela pump in style to my registry and gave hubby a big wish list hint for Christmas :-)

I have to go with the majority and say Medela too! That thing traveled with me to work five days a week and I even used the battery pack when I had to pump in my car one day and it was just as powerful as if it were plugged in. Very good investment!
Medela Pump In Style Advanced....without a doubt. I used it to pump for about 10 months every day while I was working full-time. It worked great and I will plan to use it again with #2 when the time comes. I was lucky enough to buy it from a friend who had used it.
I used my Medela with both of my babies! I LOVED it!!! I rented one for the first month and then bought one. I agree to look for coupons to help offset the costs, as it is expensive but SO worth it!!
I had a Medela for my first baby and an Ameda for my second. HUGE, HUGE mistake to switch, spend the extra $50 and go for the Medela!!! I would not recommed the Ameda, I had all kinds of problems with it, had to get 2 new motors because they kept failing. I would have kept the Medela from baby #1 but it was a "family" pump- went through my 2 women in my family before me and one after and is still going strong!! I am definitely going back to Medela if we go for round 3 :)
Medela. Use a 20% off coupon (or better if you can find one) at babies r us to offset the cost.
Medela was a life saver for me. I got the pump in style and it was amazing!!!
Another vote for Medela Pump In Style! I used for 2 babies, went back to work after 3 months and pumped for a year!
Medela Pump in Style-- BUT go to Target or Babies R Us and get the SoftFit and/or larger shields....
Hands down the Medula Pump in Style. I also rented one from the hospital for about a month and then went out and purchased one. It got used for my 2 kid's and then I lent it to several friend's. I even leased it to my hair dresser for free haircuts!! If you do lend it to friend's and I know some people have a issue with that, just make sure that you buy new tubing and everything.
Good luck!
Medella they are great & don't loose suction
I am going to be honest with you, I had a medela for my first child and I really liked it, but with my second I ended up buying a single pump Evenflo brand one for $35.00 at walmart and I loved it. They had a double one for something around $45.00. It was perfect for me because I was a SAHM and only needed to pump for a babysitter or if I was a L. too full. If I was going to be pumping ALL THE TIME and was going back to work, then I could've have justified spending the money. I thought the Evenflo worked just as well as the Medela it just didn't come with all the bells and whistles, which I didn't need anyway.
I can't remember the brand but I used one that looked like a half-circle and fit inside my bra. I absolutely loved it because it allowed for hands-free use. It also wasn't as traumatic on my breast as the Medela. I bought it online but saw at Babies'R'Us.
