I like Marilyn! There is also Greta as in Greta Garbo Rita as in Rita Hayworth, Marlon as in Marlon Brando, Cary Grant James Dean. There are soo many how can you chose?
My daughters name is Lana (like Lana Turner). I like that she was named after a starlett and I am thinking if we have another girl I would use another starlett name, but I don't want to have a name that every little girls seems to have now (like Ava). Any suggestions? I was also looking for a boys name that complimented Lana (hollywood male star name), Any good ideas there?
WOW! I didn't expect such a big response! Thanks girls! There was a few that I didnt even remember. I have a list of 9 that I think are my favorites, and I gotta admit...except for Grant...I don't really care for the boy names of the older era. I am definitely looking for OLDER starlett names here are some of my favorites (first names):
Clara Bow
Constance Bennett
Hedy Lamarr
Ella Raines
Audrey Hepburn
Brigitte bardot
Marion Davies
Simone Signoret
Olivia De Havilland
I love Ava, but I swear everyone and their mother is names Ava nowadays.

Gina Lollabridgida- an Italian starlett. I believe that she is still alive & is a photographer and politician as well in Italy.
Sophia- after Sophia Lorene
Bridget (sp)- Bridget Bardot
Grace- Grace Kelly
Just some ideas. You can go to imdb.com, they have an extensive list of movies, especially if you know the movie but may not not the actor/actress' name.
Female Hollywood names:
Lauren.
Lillian.
Greta.
Vivian.
Audrey.
Veronica.
Ingrid.
Male Hollywood names:
Cary - or even Grant
Spencer
Clark
We went with a painter for our son's middle name and a jazz singer for our daughter's middle. His name is Samuel Wyeth and she is Madeline Dearie.
Good luck to you and congratulations!

For girl names, I like:
Vivien (Leigh)
Grace (Kelly)
Audrey (Hepburn)
Not really a fan of many boys names from that era. The only ones that I would consider are:
Gregory (Peck)
Anthony (Quinn)
William (Holden)
Vivian Leigh
Clark Gable
greta (garbo)
marion (davis)
I love Marlo, Rita, Myrna, Vivien, Grace, Bette, Jayne, Sophia, Veronica, Mae, Ella, Miriam, Kay...just to name a few
Here are some boy names:
Sean (Connery)
Paul (Newman)
Love the idea! My friend was named after Katharine Hepburn and her brother after Gregory Peck. Ella is becoming pretty popular right now, so is Olivia. My daughter is Sophia (you could do it after Sophia Loren) and I have an A-lana (spelled Alannah), and they sound great together!
Someone I know used the name Scarlett.
Scarlett Johanson if you are looking for present starletts, love the name Scarlett. If you are looking for old world starlett name then I'd say Ava, for Ava Gabor, or Bridget for Bridget Bardot. Old male stars, Cliff for Clff Montgomery, James for James Dean, or just use Dean. Current male stars they all seem to have normal names so nothing too exciting. I'd google stars from the 40's and 50's or current ones and you'll find plenty I'm sure. Have fun.
Fun!! I too love Lauren, Scarlett, Simone, greta, Audrey, Katharine, Jayne, Paige, Vivien, veronica, Clara, grace, Spencer, grant, Dustin, dean, and Clark! My daughter is Olivia but it's also pretty popular.
Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Bette Davis, Greta Garbo, Ginger Rogers, Claudette Cobert, Olivia de Havilland, Loretta Young, Simone Signoret, Sophia Loren, Patricia Neal, Faye Dunaway
Spencer Tracy, Gary Cooper, Errol Flynn, Marlon Brando, Montgomery Cliff, Charlton Heston, Warren Beaty, Clint Eastwood, Dustin Hoffman, Ernest Borgnine, Yul Brynner
I this was kind of fun for me and the Husband to see what we could list :) good luck we left out the obvious/traditional names.
My daughter's name is Margaret Katharine, Katharine so spelled as Katharine Hepburn, not Katherine, or Catherine. And let me tell you, it is a VERY fitting name! No nickname has ever stuck, she is SOOO Margaret! I know you'd be happy with either a boy or girl, but I really wish my daughter had a sister, my sisters (3 of them)and I are very close, so I'll be secretly hoping for another girl for you, tehehe, good luck!
Cyd - as in Cyd Charisse -always loved her dancing
Vivian (Leigh)
Raquel (Welsh)
Grace (Kelly)
Audrey (Hepburn)
Susan (Hayward)
Debbie (Reynolds)
Elizaboth (Taylor)
